CHAPTER ONE - LEARNING TO COACH YOURSELF
Life coaching is the next best way to understand your own mind. I decided to explore how to use the mind's own language to change sensory representations in order to consistently achieve specific and desired outcomes.
Values are the intrinsic standards that each person adheres to and lives by. Each person has their own individual standards and things that they choose to live by. For me, the values I hold close to my heart are to always keep striving in life, to experience more memories, and to respect each and every person I meet as a valuable individual. Life is a matter of time, and it’s what you do in that time that matters.
Beliefs are the things that are ingrained in our minds as things to live by. I have a strong belief in God and divinity. I believe in angels who protect me and guide me on the paths to achieve my highest good.
There is something very fascinating about the two models used in neuro linguistic programming. The META and TOTE model. It is in how to test and find through a series of questions to identify the problem that needs to be addressed in detail and convey them through auditory and visual images, and use the identified strength or quality to provide the desired anchor, that can have the desired result to overcome worries, phobia, or alleviate problems within the mind and how we react to them. This process seems to be able to facilitate reprogramming of the mind.
The mind usually understands language through visual communication, or through senses. It is the process that enabled me to overcome my fears of living a life in solitude, and begin to branch out onto the world, to Live my highest purpose, discovering new experiences and rewardingly fulfilling adventures that have helped me to remould my perception of this world. Where before my views were constricted to observe society, and over think about life on my own, travel helped my mind to expand and appreciate all that life can offer.
To identify a problem in life, through building a rapport, and finding out how it made me feel, and if I had another way of looking at the problem I was facing, and the end result of creating an anchor of new thought, once the peak has been reached of having dissolved the problem. This process gave way to me being able to believe that life is to be lived, as we journey through this world.
This process can be used in all areas of life. Whether it be to pursue a course of action, to change or alter your reality, or to be able to expand your way of thinking, and overcome the fears and blocks that hold you back from achieving your true potential. Every person’s map and model of the world is different. There is no such thing as failure, only feedback. Even awful behaviour has a positive intention. There are no unresourceful people, only unresourceful states.
I then continued to delve deeper into understanding the Law of Requisite Variety, which states that the person or system with the most flexibility of behaviour will control the system.
To have strength of mind, we need to be flexible people. Our minds are formed from understanding any given situation and circumstance, that
enables us to make better choices. The more flexible we are, the more in control we will be with the right direction and choices in life.
