I Forgot How To Life
So, hello. Welcome to my typical, "where to begin" beginning to my story, or article, whatever you wanna call it. First, let me just state outright that I for one am not a writer so please excuse any disgusting writing styles you WILL come across. Secondly, I have a sarcastic sense of humour, which is often at the expense of myself or my closest friends so please bear with me. Lastly, as another sort of introduction to you all about what this writing is (or is trying to be), to be honest I don't really know. I guess you could call it an open invitation to my new diary or even just me ranting about my life that really shouldn't be this hard. Either way, I hope you enjoy what we can call the "Unknown" Series.

Where Is My Angel?
By just reading the title, you might already have an idea about what I’m about to tell you. Common sense tells you, “It's just another love, heartbreaking story,” or most commonly used by me “Another poor, pathetic bastard who gets too sentimental about something not worth his time.” Yes, something I would say. But before we get into my story, I want to tell you a little about me. ‘Why?’ you might ask. Hell, the last conversation I had with a stranger was about another Kylie Jenner pregnancy situation, well something like that. I usually tune out after I hear something that’s not interesting to me. But the real reason is so you can walk in my shoes while reading my story. Get a feel of what you’re about to read. Also maybe because conversations like this don't come around like they used too. I blame technology. Well my story is unique, truthful, and very special to me. It’s your choice if you want to get high with some truth. But I'm not responsible for your sentimental behavior.

Falling With ‘Style’
Everyone is familiar with Toy Story, especially, the scene where Woody and Buzz finally fly to catch Andy and the moving van before it’s too late. They called it “falling with style.” This was because Buzz couldn’t technically sustain himself to fly. He wasn’t that kind of toy. Or was he?

Mastering Melancholy
The first thing to understand in your pursuit of happiness is that “happy” is a subjective term: what works for one person won’t work for the next. These suggestions are not law or guaranteed to change your life. Instead, they’re designed to make you think—to look inward and figure out what you, as an individual, need to make you your happiest self.

A Quick Reminder
We're rounding the end of the second month this year. How many of you made a resolution? Are you still pursuing it? If not, that's ok. I stopped making a New Year’s resolution a long time ago. There's so much pressure for us to just come up with something to better ourselves. But, do we really think about it? I personally think that we should make an effort everyday to better ourselves, in one way or another. Speak a little kinder. Be more positive. Take the stairs when you go to work. Park a little further away at the grocery store. Don't feel bad for not actively pursuing that resolution. There are opportunities every day to make a better choice for yourself.

Give Thanks, That's the Secret
I have learned the ticket through life is gratitude. It's a shame we are not taught how to be grateful in school. Of all the subjects we are shown, I believe being grateful would be the most useful. It is hard to get through life without appreciation. Think of the dependency we have as human beings. From the moment we are formed we need the nutrients from our host, the body of our own mother just to survive. Once we are born, we need love, care, attention, touch, even air to sustain ourselves. But gratitude...that is what we often forget.

Karma: Continued
In my last post, we discussed the what ifs and questions pertaining to Karma. How does it affect us and to what magnitude? Do we accept it as part of fate or do we have more influence than that? I think we do. You know that saying, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you?” What if that’s more than just an old saying. Can we change the blessings we receive? If we make the conscious decision to do good every day and take into consideration the effect, we have on others we in turn are making that same decision for ourselves.

Purpose: We All Have One
When you wake up in the morning, what drives you to get out of bed? Is it just the fact that it’s morning? Or is it because you are not dead yet? Is it because you have things you need to do before the day is over? Or is it because you have things you want to do before the day is over? Whatever it is, you still get out of bed, right? You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t get out of bed. And why do—and did—you get out of bed? Think about it. We all have different reasons for getting out of bed. But whatever you get out of bed for, one thing is certain; it’s for a purpose. Every day has a purpose, and everyone has a purpose every day. It may not be a very big one, but it will all lead up to the bigger purpose; your life’s purpose. Everyone has a purpose every day. Everyone has a purpose in life. We’re all born with a heart, right? Within that heart is a passion that burns brighter than anything else. That is a purpose. And a purpose drives you to get out of bed, and a purpose drives you in life. There is nothing more powerful than a human being with a purpose. However, a purpose isn’t for you. It’s for the people who need you.

Reclaiming My Power
1. Self-Care I define self-care as taking the time out of my days to do things for me that aren't mindless. Self-care is intentional preservation of the body and mind. I decided to take care of myself more in the smallest ways, like buying my favorite aromatherapy candle and lighting it when I feel overwhelmed. The larger end of the self-care spectrum for me would be to define speak my true feelings about a situation happening in my life. One example of this is I find myself speaking up for myself more at work when I feel wronged or when I get less than stellar feedback from supervisors.

Does Happiness Exist?
Throughout my whole life I have felt somewhat alone. I thought I was strange and incredibly different from what I assumed was normal. But from the help of social media, I began to feel more included, and as odd as that seems it was true for me and many others I assume. Social media was an escape for me but it brought me more exclusion in the long run. I regret the hours spent endlessly watching videos because I was missing out on real life experiences.
