The Producer vs. Consumer Mindset
We are all consumers but not all of us are producers. This dichotomy between producing vs. consuming has become especially relevant in the 21st century when levels of consumption are at historic levels. When you think about it, being able to consume in different parts of life has never been easier or faster. January 15th There's something about a new journal. The way the blank pages lay perfectly flat against each other. The fresh, blank lines waiting to have a purpose. To be filled with your deepest thoughts and rawest emotions. There’s something about the smell of the paper as you fan out the pages. Dragging your thumb across the straight edge of each clean sheet. There's something comforting in the strength of its sleek, stiff spine. Still unbroken and strong. Ready to carry the weight of your life in its binding.

A Letter to a Friend About Being Weird
So there’s is a small bit of pretext I would like to give to this “letter.” I was on the phone with a good friend of mine and we got on the conversation of being weird. She’s weird, I’m weird, it’s awesome and a good thing. She asked me to explain what I meant when I said that being weird is a good thing. I proceeded to go on a rant for about a half hour. After I was done, she told me I needed to write it down and share it with people. So here you are, a letter to my friend about being weird.

What I Learned in Boating School Is...
College is weird. Growing up is even weirder. You’re expected to know what you're going to do for the rest of your life at such a young age. You are encouraged to have a plan for your life. Graduate high school. Go into college knowing what path you want to take. "Study medicine, business, or become a lawyer," they'd usually say. Graduate college and find a high paying job. Work your way up. And if for some reason your life doesn't go according to plan, you are no longer worthy of being looked up to.

Making a Change
Why can making a change be so difficult and yet, we all seem to change so much year to year? Have you ever tried your hand at a new lifestyle or hobby or mindset and failed but then you look back on yourself a year ago and realise how much your life has changed? When I think back to the last year, the last 5 years, even the last 10 years, I have a hard time relating to the person I was. Things have just changed so much and I didn't even try.
