Triple Threat
I made three brief bullets in preparation of this note; as a makeshift outline. I dare not type them now for shame of realizing the pure crypticness of them. In any event, I resolved to create something for the sake of a much needed “HAFF Time;" as so elegantly named by the lovely Kalyn Nicholson (Kalyn’s Coffee Talk). It is based off of an element from a recent concert from one of her fellow Toronto natives (in addition to major sporting events [Halftime]). The acronym stands for “Honesty, Acceptance, Forgiveness, and Focus” (if I got the order right). I was recently afforded the opportunity to be brutally honest with myself by a newly christened BFF (Best Friend Forever). He demanded an answer to a question that I have long dreaded for some reason: “What is stressing you out?”

I Try to Find Time for Myself
College life is hard y'all. Taking a full load of classes, working 30 hours a week, being in 2 student orgs, and having a dog are the things I have to balance this semester. Add on top of that a long distance relationship and being a 24 hour drive away from my family. But even though most days I can't find a couple minutes to relax by myself, I still try my hardest to make time for my thoughts and prayers every day. When I wake up in the mornings, I take my dog out and while I'm waiting for her to finish her business, I pray. It might only be 3 minutes, but it makes me feel closer to God and has made my prayer life stronger. On the days that I walk/ride a bike to work I like to not listen to music so I can think and plan my day in my head. I think about what I'll eat for lunch, if I have time to go home between work and class, and when will I get my workout in for the day. One of the orgs I am in is my school's club swim team. I go to practice 2-3 times a week (depending on how much homework I have) and it is a great way to de-stress and clear my head. I also try to go to a circuit class 2 times a week so I really feel the burn. Working out is helping me realize how out of shape I am and how good I feel afterwards. Since I have started working out more I have become happier, less stressed, and I have even lost some weight. Another way I keep my busy schedule less stressful is by having a planner. I have color coded pens for class, work, and personal stuff. It helps to keep me reminded of all the things I have to do and gives me milestones to look forward too. Every weekend that I get to see my boyfriend I put little heart stickers on the day he comes. For the times my mom and sister are coming to see me I put stars. Having a cute, organized planner keeps me sane and makes sure I do all my homework. Even though I am a busy girl with all the things I have on my plate, finding time to myself to pray or plan out the day is such a crucial part of my less stressful life.

Three Rules for Staying Motivated
I work from home. That means I own my time, but at a cost: I am always lacking in motivation! At a traditional job you might have a boss grilling you and pushing you towards a deadline, but when you’re self employed that falls on you.

Practice Makes Better
Once upon a time, I was sitting in my car, listening to tunes with my longtime friend. We were talking about some heavy stuff; stuff that most artists dwell and fret over. The stuff we all wish we could do versus the things we actually can do. The stuff that is so amazing about our own craft, and also, the really, really bad stuff too. The stuff that makes you want to give up. The stuff that can make or break that specific craft for a person.

Journey of a Ronin
My feet are tired, my back aches, and my legs shake from exhaustion, but I must continue forward. I must not stop. A warrior never admits defeat, for defeat is disgrace. Defeat, to a warrior, is the ultimate stain on the honor. If I stop, I must accept defeat. If I stop, I will defeat myself. This is the way of the warrior.

First of all, I would like to thank the anonymous tipper on my last story! Whoever you are I truly appreciate it! I enjoy writing. I’m not sure if I’m the best, but I like that someone is reading some of my most inner thoughts and personal actions of my daily life and rewarding me with a tip! So thank you for helping to put a little bit extra towards the caring of my kids.

Impactfulness
Impactfulness. One of those buzz-words, I guess, that people tend to throw around relatively loosely. But to me impactfulness means many different things. It means making a difference in your life and in the life of others. That is the message I hope to convey to you as you read this piece.
