This Is How You Will Heal
And this is how you will heal... It will be a process. I know that’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth. These things take time. And no, “time doesn’t heal all wounds.” It’s what you do during that time that will determine the healing you experience.

Be Real with Yourself
A month ago I turned 22. I couldn't help but feel like I was running out of time and I hadn't accomplished anything; just like everyone, I have goals that I would like to achieve. There's no doubt in my mind that I can get it done. The question is: Why am I not where I want to be in life? The answer is straightforward: I'M LAZY. That, my friend, is changing. I'm getting my shit together.

The World Thanks You for Being Positive
As I capture the moment above, I say out loud, thank you. But it's not just when I experience abundance in life that I say, thank you. I preface my thoughts and reactions with gratitude, and thus I have trained myself to start my sentence/reaction with “Thank you!”

How Do I Love Myself?
I spend my nights in dislocation, in morbid solitude. Boundless static closes in, only to be swallowed by the peripheral ether of my mind. The television squawks its electrical pulse to the beat of my restless gray matter. I am sprawled across a leather couch, barely in the realm of the conscious as the fellas on the screen send me their best, asphyxiating standards of living no human being can hope to ascertain.

Negative Thoughts
Negativity is 100 percent inevitable in life. There is no way around it, only through it. You know what is inevitable to some extent? Our negative thoughts. Pick any negative memory or feeling you keep replaying and reminiscing over in your head. Now imagine them as concrete blocks or bricks that you are holding in your arms. It makes your arms sore, makes you tired and slow. It wears you out, and takes your energy for the day. That is what our negative thoughts do to us. Our negative thoughts are unwanted pests that our mind creates to slow us down and hinder us. Close your eyes and visualize putting your concrete blocks down, and walking away from them, not looking back. For me, I imagine the Crucifix and leaving my concrete blocks at the feet of Jesus on the Cross. It is in our best interest to let go of our negative thoughts, whether it be fear, or worry, or anything in-between. It is best for us to let go of the negativity in our thoughts, because it dictates our life. If we let negativity control our minds, it controls our life.

Givan You: ME
When you think of the word ME, you can’t help but think of yourself right? Well, that’s exactly what this new program is geared towards, finding and loving yourself. Change starts with you. The majority of the time, we put things and people before ourselves, while also promoting self-love. Think for a second: when is the last time you did something that truly benefits you from every angle? For me, these soul benefits can range from buying a milkshake or a long walk in the park to saying no to a full-scheduled day. Every day it is important to make sure that you take your dose of self-love.

Self-Care Is Not Selfish
It was 5:30 AM and I has snoozed my alarm 3 times already. I rolled out of bed and started strategically planning how I was going to get my four children up without having to deal with backlash. Normally I could take several rounds of the lights on lights off game, or my daughter waking up and then going in the bathroom and falling to sleep on the bathroom rug. I just didn't have the energy today, I was truly tired. Every morning was a miracle, getting four people not including myself fed watered and in four separate locations and still managing to get my ass in my seat at work by 8:30. I had a doctor's appointment that day before work. I can remember feeling anxious about all the work that was waiting for me at my job, while sitting in the doctor's office waiting for my results. I could never just be in the moment, I was always stressing about work, bills, dinner, my son's behavior in school. Here I was waiting for results that could be life changing, and I was thinking about everybody but myself.
