In my life, I try to allocate my time most likely to do my hobbies and thus, I feel so much that my creativity is getting stronger and improving while I’m able to do this. However, life is not going through the way we always wanted to, and we are usually supposed to do our job, chores and other daily routines.

Meanwhile, we might feel that we are running out of creativity and becoming a person of ordinary life, but don’t feel trapped in the midst of nothingness or not to be able to do nothing at this time.

If we convince our brains to see our creativity skills as a muscle that we need to constantly develop like any other, then, we will be more motivated to devote our time to doing something we love in the midst of our daily energy and time-consuming chores.

Therefore, we must strengthen them by exercising them to keep the creativity alive. We need to make something. We must write, draw, paint, sing, act, dance, and express ourselves in many ways. Even when we don’t feel like it.

I carefully chose these 4 habits that can help you to keep your creativity alive. These habits are:

1. Do not give up and be merciful to yourself

2. Find a creative space that appeals to you most

3. Let yourself go with the flow of inspiration

4. Find the most suitable creator community for yourself

4 Noteworthy Habits to Keep Your Creativity Alive

1. Do not give up and be merciful to yourself

This is the first and one of the most significant because each person may be conditioned and compelled themselves to devote time to the things they like to do to develop their creativity, but make yourself feel as comfortable and free as possible because remember that your hobbies can also turn into a boring routine over time and this will distract and prevent you from doing it.

Thus, it will make you feel that your plan/schedule is broken when you cannot do it. Of course, we need to give necessary time carefully to them in order to keep creativity alive, but I mean not as much as we are conditioned and forced.

Thereby, forgive and be merciful to yourself if you don’t accomplish anything you intended to, and in general, don’t expect to be at the utmost of your productivity all the time.

2. Find a creative space that appeals to you most

To begin with, find a new creative space that will motivate you to keep your creativity alive. There would be definitely spaces and situations where everyone feels like they belong and their creativity muscles get stronger. To give an example, some people may feel inspired in a quiet and calm environment, while others may feel more focused and inspired in chaos and crowd.

Regardless, you have to find a creative space. This may be a coffee shop where you feel calm, or a quiet room when no one is home, maybe it’s the time, not the place that matters to you, you may be more focused at night.

To discover your new creative place, consider what you miss and like the most about the prior one. Then, incorporate as much of those elements into your new space as possible.

If you are inspired at a coffee shop, maybe you need the smell of coffee brewing throughout the day and add into the background some songs to make you feel like you’re listening to your favourite shop’s playlist. Moreover, if you like authentic aesthetics at night, you can keep candles around you to get inspired.

This habit is significant because preparing an inspiring atmosphere for yourself will lead you to feel creative.

3. Let yourself go with the flow of inspiration

Sometimes the following situation can happen and it is really annoying; I want to give an example from my own life, when I am very busy and tired, I always think of things I want to do and then saying I wish I had time to do this right now. However, after that when I’m completely free and want to take my own time, I can’t find anything to do and lack imagination

That’s why to avoid this situation, don’t be lazy to write down the things you want to do in your daily life in a list or a notebook on your phone because then, it can be really useful.

However, there is not only one source of imagination, the inspiration will flow as long as you need your imagination to keep your creativity alive.

On the internet, you can find many posts, shares, and creators that from social media and many other open sources, you may like and inspire. This way, you save the creators and posts you like and keep them ready for the future.

In other words, if it makes you feel inspired and creative, follow it. Save it. If it makes you feel uninspired, unfollow it because it will consume your energy and make you distracted.

4. Find the most suitable creator community for yourself

If you’re inspired by working with a community and their work, this habit is definitely for you. You can find many communities based on your hobbies and interests. But besides that now people are spending more time online and they are finding more ways to socialize online. One way of these is the wide range of communities that you can join.

You’ll find creative communities based on the field you are interested in through the art, blog and video networks, social media, forums, and anywhere else that makes creators share their work.

Joining one or more of these communities will give you a place to share your art, get feedback, and get inspiration. You’ll also be able to provide feedback, inspire, and gain perspectives from other creators. Thus, this way you will keep your creativity alive.

Summary

Thus far, I wanted to mention about 4 habits that can help you keep your creativity alive, which are:

1. Do not give up and be merciful to yourself

2. Find a creative space that appeals to you most

3. Let yourself go with the flow of inspiration

4. Find the most suitable creator community for yourself

To put the last word in a nutshell, if you are compassionate and merciful towards yourself, if you find your own creative space and community, you will see that your creativity will flow accordingly.

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed it.
