How to Set Yourself up for Success Early on In Life Have to fully utilise your 20’s and adulthood.
Have to fully utilise your 20’s and adulthood.

There is this saying that “if you do it right, one shot is all you need”. This is pretty much true in life, we do not get an infinite amount of opportunities so at each stage of your life you always want to make sure your seizing each opportunity and living your best life. That way you never have any what-ifs and regrets in life.
There is this TED talk that I once heard the speaker Meg Jay mentioned about why “your 30 is not the new 20”. Her knowledge was very insightful and brought a new perspective on how I viewed my 20’s. Claiming your life in your 20’s is probably one of the most transformative things that you can do in your work, your love and your life.
Here are the statistics:
- 80% of life’s most defining moments are done by age 35.
- The first 10 years of your career has an impact on how much money you are going to earn.
- More than half of Americans are married, dating or living with their future partner by the age of 30.
- The brain caps and wires off its last growth spurt in your 20s as it rewires your brain for adulthood. What this means is that whatever you want to change about yourself now is the time to change it.
Our 20’s is one of most the defining moments of our adulthood, and it would be a shame to trivialise and assume that you have all the time in the world. When you assume you have another 10 years to wait until your 30’s, you are robbing yourself of the urgency and ambition and nothing happens with your life.
The post-millennial mid-life crisis is not having a red sports car or a luxury mansion.
It is realising that:
- You can’t have the job you always wanted.
- You can't do the things that you always wanted.
- You can’t have the child you always wanted.
Most 30, 40 something year old that comes to this realisation later on in life will ask themselves “What was I doing back then? “, “What was I thinking back then?”. And if you have regrets, the time would have already been lost.
Time is precious and lost time can’t be replaced.
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back.” — Harvey MacKay

2. Have financial/ relationship/ health goals
- Have a plan.
- Learn to master money, health, relationships.
- Continue being a self-learner.

- Real it through a business, real estate, e-commerce, investing etc.

- When you have a clear goal and end game in mind, hustling and working to pursue your vision becomes purposeful.
- Use the passion and the desire that you have to fuel your work.
- Be disciplined, balanced and self-sufficient.
5. Create leverage and automate your success
- Once you have worked awhile in your side hustle and it begins to take off, you will now focus on leverage and automating your success.
- You will not need to hustle and grind as you once did as your returns are now compounding and providing returns to you tenfold.
- You can decide to venture into new projects that you are passionate about.
6. Reinvest and optimise your wealth
- At this stage, most people focus on reinvesting into their business, side hustle, their investments to continue growing the investments.
- They also look to enjoy their wealth and success with their family and loved ones and be more present at the moment.
- Most people might choose to pursue other pursuits at a more leisurely pace if they decide to.
“May you live every day of your life.”
― Jonathan Swift
