How to Be Successful
Success means different things to everyone. If you have ambitions, dreams, or goals that you want to achieve, all you need is the right mindset and strong goals. Stay focused and motivated throughout the entire process. In case of failure, remember to cheer up and move on. With time and effort, you may realize your definition of success.

Creating Goals
1) Define what success means to you. If you don't know what this means to you, you can't succeed. Everyone has a different view of success. [1] True success comes from achieving the things that make you the happiest in life. Once you have determined this, you can set goals that are meaningful and important to you.
- Try to write down your definition of success. Do you have a certain income, live in a certain area, or maintain a happy family? Will success allow you to travel, save for retirement or maintain a healthy social life?
- If you are struggling, think about what makes you the happiest life. Is it spending time with family, traveling, pursuing hobbies, or something else? If money is not a problem, what would you do? Next, determine what you need in life to achieve this happiness.
2) Identify your ultimate purpose or goal. Determine what you like to do and what satisfies you. Once you are sure of what you like to do, use this information to find your life purpose or goals.
- Finding what you like to do will motivate you to keep going. If your goal is what you like to do, it is much easier to work tirelessly to achieve it.
- Consider where you want to be in 5, 10, and 20 years. What can you do to help yourself realize this dream?
- If you are confused about your goals or objectives, try meeting with a professional coach or visiting a good psychologist.
- Your goal must be quantifiable. For example, instead of setting a goal to do the job better, create a benchmark, such as "My goal is to increase my productivity by 30% and I can only be late at most five times a year.
3) Break your goal into small steps. Focus on simplifying your ideas and determining what you need to do to achieve that goal. If you have the foresight to attack each target, it will be easier and less overwhelming to execute. Also, if you can successfully reach and exceed smaller goals, you are less likely to become discouraged when pursuing long-term goals.
- For example, does the goal of starting a technology company seem out of reach? Break it down into smaller goals. Smaller goals may include writing a business plan, finding investors, obtaining loans, or coming up with product ideas.
- Make sure your goal is SMART. This means that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely. Ask yourself if each objective meets this standard.
- Remember that even a small change now will make a big difference in the long run, so don't feel like you have to make big changes in your life to achieve your goals.
4) Set a timeline for when you want to achieve your objective. Give yourself a difficult but doable schedule. Make sure you have enough time to complete each of the smaller steps. It may not be possible to appear on national television comedy shows within a year, but it may be feasible to book comedy shows in front of at least 20 paying customers.
- Be sure to develop guidelines for smaller goals. For example, set a goal to join an impromptu team by the end of the month, or perform on an open microphone within 3 months.
- Try not to have a mentality of nothingness. Use your schedule to stay on track, but if you need to push yourself harder to achieve your goals, please be willing to adjust it.
5) Identify what resources you need to achieve your objectives. They can be tools, courses, budgets, or other resources to help you achieve your goals. You may need certain skills, such as public speaking, or others, such as employees or consultants.
