10 habits for a healthier lifestyle

2020 did come with a lot of commotion. Some chose to see last year as a very bad year, full of uncertainty and unpleasant changes of routine. But some of us chose to see 2020 as a life changing experience that will forever change the way we perceive life. It was thanks to what we went through, that we took out the best of us to thrive in this difficult situation. Everything in the universe is meant to happen the way it happens, therefore these drastic changes came with their own purpose. Putting aside if the quarantine was planned or not, as everything in life, we choose if we want to take out the good or the bad from it.

To continue with, I want to share with you 10 habits that I believe can help me, and you, experience a healthier lifestyle. It is time to put to practice everything we learned in 2020.

Be true to yourself: We all came to this life with our own purpose, and the easiest way to follow our dreams is by following our talents and the voice within our hearts. There is no time to waste, do what geniously makes you happy.

Exercise: Our bodies are not meant to be still. As a matter of fact, the less we use our bodies the more likely they can start hurting. Exercising also gives our brain a break and helps our ideas to flow.

Meditate: Starting the day with even a 5-minute meditation can drastically change your day. When you meditate, you can visualize everything you want to happen, how you want to feel, what you want to achieve… and that vision attracts for those things to happen. Also, meditation puts you in a state of calmness and stillness that help you organize your ideas and make everything more clear.

Diet: Everything that we put in our bodies comes with its own energy. The more nourishing things we eat, the higher frequency energy we put in our bodies. When we feed our bodies with negative or low energy, we feel tired, uninspired, and unclear. And the opposite happens when we eat high vibrational food, like fruits and vegetables. We feel motivated, inspired, full of energy, and ready to go! That is why taking care of our diet is so important. I personally am on a vegan diet. I find that by not harming any living being, I feel more in peace and connected to the world. I also feel lighter, and much more energetic.

Recycle: There is a very interesting feeling when you become more conscious about the waste you produce, and how you handle it. When you start separating your waste and helping some of that waste to be recycled or put into compost, you start vibrating at a higher frequency, because you are helping the planet.

Clean: Did you know that low energy or “bad vibes” live in the dirt? They accumulate there without you even realizing it. Some of us do feel like we are carrying extra weight when our house is not organized, and it is because we feel that “bad vibe” presence. So it is vital to always keep our things cleaned and organized. The cloth, the bed, the dishes… It sounds like a lot and it might be very annoying to most people, but the thought should be “I am lucky to have my bed, my cloth, and the food I am eating” rather than “how boring, I need to clean”. When we make those small shifts in our subconscious minds, our way of seeing things change. We learn to be grateful instead of complying so much.

Be kind to yourself: If you want to help others, like your significant other or your family members, you need to always take care of us first. It may sound selfish, but we are our first priority. We need to take care of yourself, your thoughts, actions, and feelings.

Be kind to others: If you want to have a healthier lifestyle you need to make sure that you are kind to the people you interact with. We need to understand that our actions are just a mirror of who we are, and anything we do to others we are doing to ourselves. Supporting others in any way we can will just bring you and that person joy. Small actions like these make a huge impact on our overall well-being.

Close to nature: Whatever you do, make sure you make time to spend close to nature. It can be the beach, a hike to the mountain, meditating by the trees, sitting in the patio feeling the sun fill you with energy, or anything you can. Grounding your bare feet touching the floor will help you connect to the universal energy of life. Amazing things happen when you are connected to the cosmos. I love planting too. Taking care of my plants every day makes me feel one with them!

Stay happy: Anything you do, any decision you take, every word you say, absolutely everything, make sure it brings you peace and happiness. The ultimate thing, the primary thing, the number one goal in everyone’s life is: to be happy! Don’t forget it. You go first. Plan your days well so that every single day, you go to bed happily!

I hope these habits help you with ideas of how to live a more conscious and healthier New Year! One thing that is for sure is that nowadays more and more people want to transition to a healthier and more conscious lifestyle and there are great reasons for it. Everyone can have a happy and healthy life, the only difference between those who do and those who don’t is that those who do, take the time and thought to plan it. Don’t miss the opportunity to be the maker of your own reality. Sit down, set your goals, remind yourself what really matters to you and be true to yourself.
