" There are sad tears in that boy's eyes; Putin has invaded his Motherland." This is an excerpt from my song. " The Ballad Of The Ukrainian Boy, " I wrote the lyrics on the second day of the war when I saw that stranded and weeping boy holding a sign that said, " Peace, Not War ". It was the most heartwrenching sign I ever saw and I felt sympathy for his misery as it depicted all the horror that can be inflicted upon an innocent adolescent.

Another boy who was closer to his age called Putin, " A Monster. " I call him a madman, someone devoid of human feelings and empathy. I can't read his future into a crystal ball, but I am sure it looks very gloomy and he will pay for his war crimes against Ukraine. His retribution will be huge, so it will be for those who condone his criminal action. There are only six countries on his side: Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Eritrea, Syria, and North Korea; the rest of Mankind condemns this unjustified invasion; as we can see these are those dictatorship countries that rather set our planet on fire than save it from destruction. How can they stoop so low and support a criminal? How can they look into children's eyes and not feel guilty as well?

Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, the most courageous man of all is standing against Russia and pleading for peace. Will his plea be heeded or completely ignored? He has asked for weapons to give to civilians to defend themselves against the mass invasion of the Russians. Time holds the answer while Humanity witnesses a repeat of anguish, death, and grief hunting the survivors thinking they wouldn't return to hunt them after World War II. My mom, who was barely fifteen at that time, told me about the horrors of the Nazis and the genocide of children, mothers and men burned in ovens and massacred as if they weren't human beings, but pigs destined to the slaughterhouse. Only grandma could hush her fear as she clung to her shivering. While the USA won't send troops to Ukraine, many Texans who have blood ties with Ukraine are volunteering to fight the Russian Army with all their strength and valor. I wish them well on their quest for their goodwill and brotherhood. Sometime we risk our lives, so that others may live.

What's eating up the guts of Putin who's obsessed about Ukraine joining Nato? There must be another reason behind this...perhaps economical gains and an expansion of the Russian Empire beyond the Balkans? I won't be shocked if this is his purpose of the unjustified and undeclared war. While hoards of people are leaving Ukraine's cities devastated by the powerful missiles, young and middle-aged men are staying behind choosing to fight the invaders with whatever means they have available with cocktails and rifles; even teens as young as seventeen are joining Ukraine's Army. Their motto is: " Fight or lose your freedom. "

Ukraine is alone fighting the evilest and most powerful army that ever existed. Their nuclear weapons can destroy the entire Humanity in minutes. The Armageddon battle could become a reality: the forces of evil against the defenders of peace and freedom: who will win? Will cruelty win against these proud people who love their country and want to live normal lives; until Humanity unites and stops this madness, nobody will be safe from the air attacks that have demolished buildings and have stricken the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. It could have been another nuclear disaster, miraculously the fire was extinguished immediately but seized by the Russians who have conquered Kherson and other cities.

Are the Russian soldiers also responsible for the war crimes? Obeying another Hitler instead of turning around and capturing him to stop this bloody war is incomprehensible and undignified. " What the master says the slaves do. " Does this phrase ring true to your ears? Haven't certain kings, leaders, and dictators done cruelties in the name of power and domination? World History is full of it: from the Romans, to our days nothing has really changed; who holds the power always wins!

I condemn this invasion and stand with the Ukraine people who have shown courage and turned into warriors against a mighty Russian Army, we never thought that in the twenty-first century this would happen with dire consequences; we all pay the price from the high gasoline prices, utility bills and groceries that were already had gone up since the pandemic started. Folks are struggling to get by, now it has gotten worse. They will curse Putin and his actions: he'll die a miserable death when his ordained time comes. There are no winners in wars, only cries of excruciating pain: seeing death and destruction everywhere. Why didn't Putin envision the consequences of his brutality, he only fed on his own vanity for power! Historians will write a new chapter on human existence on this planet with an environment ignored and vandalized for profits. The oligarchs couldn't care less, they are rich they own yachts and mansions; even they are approaching their end having their properties confiscated worldwide. They should blame Putin and their loss of livelihood...even then they will be on his side because they are as evil as he is. We must wake up to the fact that the ordinary man will roam in his kingdom of poverty, while the wealthy will squander their money on luxurious things and expensive champagne. Death is a certain occurrence and comes for everyone and we are equal only in death, not by what we have accumulated on earth, or grasped tight in our palms. Putin is god for millions of Russians and the leaders like him, they don't see his malecious and bizarre behavior and go on believing that their fortunes and power will last forever. Empires were built by force and fed on the blood of innocent who couldn't rebel: Ukraine people have rebelled against the most powerful empire on earth, stand with them and let's end this ugly war that has cost lives and endless sleepless nights. Light a candle tonight: let brightness shine over this macabre darkness. Gather people who seek sympathy under one sky that has been devasted by smoke and fire. Let's sing together the forgotten anthem of peace expressing the yearning for freedom: it will reach the ends of the earth and people of all creeds and races shall rejoice, while their harmonious song will reach Heaven and beyond! Look above: every star is as brilliant as hope!
