How to overcome fear - Part 2
20 Tips to Conquer Fear
In this section, we'll give you twenty suggestions that you can easily apply to your routine. The most important thing is that you believe that fear is within us; Nothing and no one can force us to realize it. It may be difficult to think about this when faced with a very important test, but we are responsible for our own personal growth. Overcoming fear is possible with a little planning and determination.
1. Don't ignore them all
As we said earlier, fear is a gift that helps us survive. We can also observe that when animals face serious risks. Fortunately, our bodies warn us when a threat is approaching. Can you imagine not feeling upset when you find a tiger in your living room? It is necessary to learn to live with this emotion. As much as fear deceives us, we should be grateful for it from time to time.
2. Know yourself
Self-esteem increases our well-being. It allows us to understand the basic aspects of what we feel or how we want to be in order to act accordingly. We don't need to frantically investigate the root of our fear of snakes. But identifying the triggers that cause us unpleasant reactions can help us devise effective strategies for dealing with them appropriately in the future.
3. Acknowledge your fears
You are human. Acting like your fear doesn't exist is very counterintuitive. It doesn't make you any less strong to feel this emotion. It doesn't matter if the subject of your fear is unusual or makes you uncomfortable, it's understandable and there are people who can support you. No matter how much we ignore it, our fear will not go away. Accepting it is the first step to overcoming it.
4. Rationalize them
Fear of fire is completely understandable if we are faced with fire. But it would be unreasonable to think that the house might burn down every time we light the stove. Thinking about the probabilities of these events and acting accordingly will allow us to get rid of undesirable cognitive processes.
5. Overcoming the fear of observing others
There are relatively frequent phobias, such as the fear of fire or the sight of blood. But it's okay if your panic reactions aren't common. Although there are differences in intensity, the feeling of fear creates the same feeling in all of us. How people can live with this emotion and confront it is beneficial to us.
6. Build self-esteem
Some fears, such as the fear of interacting with others, can cause great disgust to the people who have to deal with them. This difficulty can negatively affect their self-esteem and create thoughts such as "I'm a failure and incompetent" or "Nobody's going to love someone who's soft like me." In fact, it can cause cognitive biases that make life miserable and make us worry about the slightest thing.
Sometimes these beliefs about oneself cause deep discomfort, which can trigger serious psychological problems. Fears are incompatible with self-esteem. Anyone can be afraid, we must remember that we are humans and we are capable enough to find the best solution to any suffering.
7. Self-defense training
Obviously, our pet's mental and physical health positively affects all areas of our lives. Adopting healthy habits can allow us to feel better and increase our self-efficacy (as long as we don't overcommit to working out or losing weight). But a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, which is better at handling stress and anxiety from fear.
