CREATIVITY is ART & ART is CREATIVITY

How creativity stems from your ability to be YOU.

From Seed to Bloom.

Everyone on earth was born to serve a purpose.

Finding that purpose is one’s goal in life. But, what people forget is that one’s purpose should not be to find that purpose.

When you are a child you are full of curiosity. Curiosity that leads you to go outside and climb trees, look at insects through a magnifying glass, or attempting to catch a drop of rain with your mouth. You naturally envelop yourself in the thought of fulfilling a general hypothesis. Being right about what you thought is cool, but personally it’s being wrong that really intrigues one to discover more.

These discoveries create what you can label as the Snow Ball Effect — consistently building upon itself. You can go from one discovery, to the next and the next. Before you know it, you are literally surrounded with an inventory of routes to choose. The ability to take a metaphorical trip on one of these routes. Eventually stumbling upon that which you have been inadvertently looking for.

The ability to go down a path that leads to an unkown area is something that many are terrified of. Humans are creatures of habit — we find something that works and will repeatedly perform those actions because it is what we know. But these habits don't just appear. The are nurtured and taught. Taught by parents, teachers, friends, etc. The tragedy of this is that it strips us of the very essence we were born with — CURIOSITY. Now that doesn't mean to go about and experimenting with things that can potentially harm or kill you. But it means that a path you may have chosen on your own could have been stripped away without having ever known.

If you've read this far into my FIRST piece I promise I'm almost done rambling. The whole issue with everything I've said above is that these acts are encouraged. It's crazy, but it's as if we are encouraged to just sit and obey. To do what we are told and to not question. That questioning only leads to disorder and havoc. I beg to differ. With the right intent, questioning can lead to enlightenment and prosper. Whether it's radical or moderate questioning, it will lead to change. It's our duty to steer that change. To ensure that it progresses humanity and not hinder it.

I digress, but for a purpose. When you are a child you are not looking to find purpose in your environment. You are creating purpose through curiosity. You are creating ART — the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination.

It may be a stretch but creating art is your purpose. When you love what you create, your purpose comes right along with it. So, if what you’re doing doesn’t feel like you’re creating, it may be something you want to reconsider doing.

Life doesn't wait for anyone. The truth is, you either figure out your way around or you fall behind and never live up to your true potential. There isn't much to overthink. Find your passion. Find what makes you tick. What makes you look forward to every day of the week — instead of what makes you look forward to the end of the week.

It all begins with YOU. You have a duty to be curious. You have a duty to create and help. Finding your way to help starts by having a passion for what you create. When you have passion, everything you do is because YOU WANT TO DO IT and not because you have to do it. Persepective is key. Being self-aware is an important skill that will lead to discovery. I promise you, IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO FIND YOUR PASSION.

Some of you may say "Well that's not realistic, not everyone can do what they want." That being able to create art is the exception and not the rule. You might feel like the rule, that you have to settle with where you are at now. That may be true. But, if you never try, I guarantee you'll never know.

Therefore, I encourage you — YES YOU THE READER. Go out and create. Your ART is what the world needs. Especially in times like these.
