I make great deals. Even though I do not come from a family where business runs in the blood. But, if you see a great chance to take there is no way you will find another one, so I have learned that if the opportunity to buy anything, a piece of land, a car, or an artifact that has value is in front of you do not let it go.
So I am a lover of cars or that is what I thought. One day looking for a car I see on Facebook in the marketplace a beautiful blue car. It happens to be a Chevrolet, Camaro. The car of my dreams, at first I think that I need a car to go to college and go to work. The price is key since I am not a millionaire and also do not have the right to have the luxury. I am just a college student who works in a country club as a food runner. So, the prices say 9,000 dollars, I never bought a material object that expensive and to be more honest never had that money in my hands, yeah for some it is not a lot, but for an immigrant college student whose priorities are other, yes this is a lot.
In some way, I want the car so bad. I am not going to lie, most of my close friends had good looking cars, Nissan GTs, Subarus, Acuras, and Jeeps. They used to get nice, popular, and I used to think that was cool. When one is in High School, having a car is the best thing you can have.
So, I make the first offer with my 6,000 bucks in my account hoping to get a deal. The owner has no interest in accepting or even listening to me. He takes it as a joke and the price stays solid. He refuses my offer and I do not like to insist you know start sounding like begging so I just leave the conversation.
Two weeks passed and I cannot take the car away from my head. One quality about myself is that I vision things in my head, in other words, I picture events or situations in my head and I know that if I do that IT WILL HAPPEN. So I see myself driving this amazing blue Camaro around my town White Plains, and for some reason, I go back to the market and I see the price drops to 6500 bucks.
I have to make a move, my first move to buy something for myself. So I text and the owner says he yes but needs the cash right away because he has to go back to his country to bring his family from India. I am taking care of the documents to put the car in my name while he takes the money because he has to fly.
See, when you want something, there are always some problems that you will have to face and that is the cost you have to pay. Such as, I have not told my mom, I do not have any space to park the car, but in my head, I know that if I let go I would just have to suck it up in the future. I know that it is just a car but my background and my bases tell me that a guy from a third world country would never own a car like that, so I decide to change that and kick the balls of everyone that insisted and rubbed in my face that I cannot have that.
I remember I talk to the owner and he traveled all the way from Long Island to White Plains in New York. When I saw the car I and fall in love with my first car. It means a lot of work and sweat, it has become a mirror of what I can do and what I can accomplish.
The car is finally mine and my dream has become true. Over time I understand the car is not the goal but just an example of how visualizing is important to achieve something that you want. After getting the car the only problem was learning to drive !!!!
