No matter what you might think, it’s never too late to improve your earning potential and achieve the lifestyle you want. But, for many Gen-Zers, the path to success can seem confusing and unobtainable. But, according to one Gen-Z success story, YouTube entrepreneur Caleb Boxx, it’s really just a matter of building your skillset to reflect the needs of the employment market.

Boxx is the 22-year-old founder of Automate Channels, an almost frighteningly successful company that enables YouTubers to create quality content at a faster pace by automating their video production. This, in turn, lets creators make more videos in less time, garner more interaction, and earn greater profits.

You’re probably already starting to see why this great idea took off among YouTube’s most prolific creators, many of whom are Boxx’s clients.

Frighteningly Successful

Part of Boxx’s success has come from his groundbreaking move towards faceless YouTube videos. This format has become the cornerstone of modern content creation on the platform, freeing up creative YouTubers and letting them move away from the notoriously time-consuming and stressful process of making hosted, traditionally-produced videos.

Through Automate Channels, Boxx is now responsible for 200 employees who help clients reach subscribers totaling more than one billion people. Many of his employees are successful YouTubers themselves and every one is a hand-picked expert, says the founder.

The company’s pioneering solution to content creation has not only made Boxx a millionaire before the age of 22, but has also put the young entrepreneur at the forefront of social media, netting him more than half a million subscribers on Instagram, who turn to Boxx for insightful, practical advice that works on how to succeed in the video-making marketplace.

A natural mentor, Boxx shared some of the pointers he has given his own hometown friends to help them kick start their careers and focus on the right things. "Some of my friends from high school have struggled with their ambitions and found themselves living paycheck to paycheck and unsure what to do with their lives. They ask me what they should do and I always try to find a solution, that’s just my personality," he said.

Meaningful Change

Boxx's favorite response to his old friends is simple: if they want to make good money, they have to develop their skill sets. "You have to figure out what skill set few people have, develop it, expand on it, and fine-tune it,” he explained. “Then, find a way to work within it in a way that allows maximum freedom. Gen-Zers want more free time, and the only way you can get that is if they have a skill set that people value and will pay for. Then, they will be willing to work around your schedule to get it."

However, to establish yourself and make meaningful change means sacrifice. In some cases, this might mean taking a step back and working with an employer you admire in the area you wish to work in. Then, after a year or two of understanding how it works and getting low pay, you can strike out on your own.

"The life you want is on the other side of a risk and sacrificing something you have today. Every time I leveled up in my life and gained ten times more than I had before, it was because I gave up something that I thought I needed," said Boxx.

One Step Back, Two Steps Forward

These sacrifices can range from sinking your savings into a potentially lucrative investment, taking a lower-paying job, sacrificing your evenings and weekends to work for free, or even changing your career entirely.

But what if you fail?

For Boxx, failure is just one more step to success. You can learn even more from failing than you can from an immediate success, he says. But it’s almost certain you won’t find the happiness you want if you’re not willing to go for it with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive mental attitude.

"I discover what works and what doesn't, and I adjust my game plan. I have gained lots of skills and insight learning that lesson," he shared.

Boxx also encourages people to remain focused and mindful of their negativity. Negative thoughts are always there, whispering that you are not good enough or don't deserve success. But those are the exact thoughts you need to push away, and as Boxx puts it, "Run straight into the fire that you're so scared to run into."

Using Boxx as an example, we can all feel inspired at what can be accomplished with motivation, sacrifice, and vision.
