I have two very simple resolutions for this year that can be summed up in two sentences: To become healthier and defeat diabetes. to figure out what I want to do with my life after covid.
I’m actually going to start with the second one. For the last 5 years, prior to COVID-19, I have been a waitress. I love the job it’s fun, it’s rewarding, I get to spread happiness and my love of food. I get to bring home cash every day that I work. And I have made exceedingly more money in this sector of the customer service industry than I have at any of my other jobs.
But there are two things about this industry that I do not enjoy. The competitiveness that creeps in when many of the other girls see someone getting ahead, and the complete lack of consistency (in so many things). I don’t want to make this a complaint.
I am looking for a type of work that I find fulfilling. Where I can express myself and something I am passionate about to a large audience. My other passion in life is actually storytelling. Though I’m not much of one to share my own story because it is a very sad one. With large amounts of loss in it. However, I have done a lot of healing in the time of COVID-19. I enjoy my solitude, and have enjoyed this time tucked away with my kitties. I actually believe it is time to share some of my story, because there are parts of it that are quite interesting as well.
This brings me to an additional resolution: Get out of my shell. Burst forth from my cocoon.
Now to my first resolution mentioned. To become healthier and defeat diabetes. I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 or 4 years ago now. I have been slowly making changes and my health has been increasing over the last few years. I have exercised every day of 2021 so far, which is exciting to write about. I have been eating healthier and healthier and have committed myself to a very holistic weight loss program that addresses “fat triggers” that go as deep as looking into and releasing from past traumas.
I found out at the end of last year that I had got my A1C down to 6.7 which means I’m almost into pre-diabetes. Which is very exciting, all my hard work and changes have been successful. There is so much misinformation out there about what dieting is and how to change our health, and I am glad that I was gifted with the intuition to choose for myself and my body, and I would like to be able to teach others to do the same.
Which brings me to another additional resolution: find a way to help people with their weight loss/health goals.
In 2021 I am resolving to :Get out of my shell/burst forth from my cocoon (while sharing my story), Find a way to help people with their weight loss and health goals, to become healthier and defeat my diabetes, to figure out what I want to do with my life after covid.
