But What Is Grief, If Not Love Persevering?
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. But is that a necessity?

Grief is a journey that we all must take, a road that we never expected to travel. It is the price we pay for love, for opening ourselves up to the beauty and wonder of the world. It is a reminder that nothing lasts forever, that even the brightest flames must eventually flicker and fade.
As I watched WandaVision, episode 8, I was struck by the raw emotion that permeated every scene. I felt Wanda's pain as she grappled with the loss of her loved ones, her heartrending struggle to come to terms with the fact that they were gone forever. And as I watched, I realized that grief is something that touches us all, something that we must all face at some point in our lives.
But what is grief, really? Is it simply a feeling of sadness, a sense of loss that we experience when someone we love is taken from us? Or is it something more, something deeper and more profound?
For me, grief is a complex and multifaceted emotion, one that is characterized by a sense of longing and emptiness. It is a feeling of absence, a sense that something that was once so vital and important is no longer there. It is a feeling of regret, a sense that we could have done something more to prevent the loss that we have suffered.
And yet, even as we experience these difficult and painful emotions, there is a sense of beauty and wonder that lies at the heart of grief. In facing our pain and our sorrow, we are able to come to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. We are able to tap into a wellspring of love and compassion that we may not have even known existed, and we are able to find meaning and purpose in even the darkest of moments.
As Wanda struggled to come to terms with her grief, she was forced to confront some of the most difficult questions of life: what does it mean to love someone? What does it mean to lose someone? And what does it mean to be human?
For me, these questions lie at the very heart of what it means to be alive. They remind us that life is fleeting and fragile and that every moment we have is a precious gift that we should cherish and hold dear. They remind us that even in the face of tragedy and loss, there is a spark of hope and possibility that can carry us forward.
Don't worry, I won't give out any spoilers from the show that will propel you further into grief. It is common knowledge that the show is based on how Wanda recuperates from the loss of her parents (to extremists), her twin brother Pietro (to Ultron), and the love of her life, Vision (to Thanos).
Grief can be forever. Loss hurts. Love hurts. Life hurts. There is no way around it.
Nobody wants to die, and nobody wants a loved one to die. Nobody wants to lose a prized possession (still thinking about that pizza slice). When we lose something, we are flooded with emotions, which may or may not include grief. We may feel guilty for finishing a TV show, eating a chocolate cake, or simply existing.
But it can't all be sorrow, can it? A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts.
We mourn things in our own ways because we love in our own unique ways.
And what is grief, if not love persevering?
