Yesterday, while waiting for my neighbor to pick me up at a bus stop, I noticed a lady standing not too far away, waiting. Despite various buses stopping by, she didn't board any of them. She only attempted to board when a private car pulled up, but when it was getting late, she joined the next available bus. This got me pondering on the phrase "bus stop" and its significance in our lives.

Have you ever noticed that a bus stop is a place where all kinds of human nature are found? Some passengers need a free ride, some are there to steal, some actually want to board the bus to their next destination, some want to take an Uber, cab, or taxi, some are there to spy, while some get to the bus stop and change their mind to go back home. Some passengers arrive at the bus stop with empty pockets but need to take a bus to their next location.

As defined by Wikipedia, a bus stop is a designated place where buses stop for passengers to board or alight from. According to British English, a bus stop is defined as a place usually with a pole and a sign where a bus stops to allow passengers to get on and off. However, in my opinion, a bus stop is more than just a designated spot or building where buses start and finish their journey.

Though the above are definitions of what a bus stop is, do you know that the earlier you get to a bus stop does not determine whether you will get a bus to your destination soon? Conversely, some people get to the bus stop a bit late and immediately get a bus to their destination.

Looking at life as a whole, from the picture painted above, one way or another, we find ourselves at different bus stops. Though our bus stop may vary, your own bus stop might be waiting for a promotion letter to move on to the next level, waiting for a call-up letter to serve your fatherland, waiting for a marriage or engagement proposal ring, waiting to be given a visa or permit, deployment letter to start your new job, or publishing your next book, to mention a few.

While waiting for the "bus" to your next destination, it's crucial to get yourself busy and be productive with your time. You see, some people at such times, read, while some make one or two business calls. My question to you is, what are you doing while waiting?

It's essential to make use of your time wisely while waiting for your bus to arrive. Use that time to build yourself up, acquire new skills, read, and learn something new. Don't just sit and wait for the bus to take you to your destination; instead, get busy, and before you know it, the bus to your next destination would arrive.

Furthermore, it's essential to keep your focus on your goals and remain positive, even when things don't seem to go as planned. Remember, the time spent waiting for the bus can be a period of growth and preparation for the next phase of your life. Take time to reflect on your past experiences, learn from them, and prepare yourself mentally for the journey ahead.

In conclusion, life is like a bus stop, and we find ourselves waiting for the next bus to take us to our next destination. While waiting, make use of your time wisely and productively, build yourself up, and acquire new skills. Keep your focus on your goals and remain positive, even when things seem tough. Remember, the bus to your next destination will arrive, and when it does, you'll be ready to board and embark on the next phase of your journey.
