And the Elder Shall Teach the Younger

It is saith that the best way to find yourself is by losing yourself in the service of others.

Greetings, It is rather easy for me to write a letter for this challenge. That is because the person whom I am choosing to nominate is nothing less than extraordinary. Nancy Lewis, CEO of Progressive Techniques Inc., but affectionately known as "Minister Nancy" at Resurrection House For All Nations is a true example of servant-leadership.

I came to know Ms. Lewis about three years ago. Her infectious smile and bubbly personality weren't hard to miss. The moment we spoke she told me that she loved my personality and would be delighted to have me serve on the greeters ministry. As you know, adjusting to a new church can be a little intimidating. Nancy, did not allow any room for that to happen. She immediately took me under her wing and began to commend my service and encourage me along the way.

There is one particular day that I remember. On February 14, 2019, Valentine's Day, I was looking forward to having lunch with a former choir member from my previous church. She and I had planned for months. But when the day came, she told me that she would no longer be able to make it due to her septic tank bursting. While I totally understood, I was so bummed as I missed seeing a lot of my friends from my old church. Nancy just happened to be in my area and called to say that she would like to stop by. She then asked if I would like to go to Ruth Chris' Steakhouse for lunch! A total upgrade!

That was the day that I truly felt her warm spirit but, as special as that day was to me, it is how she interacts with everyone. Whether it's lunch or an invite to one of her dynamic conferences, she is constantly pouring into others. Many are able to make mention of her pep talks, words of encouragement and powerhouse networking abilities. A carrier of many talents that uses them for the sake of helping others.

Nancy is a mentor to many women through all walks of life. Her tenacity is shown in the excellence that is placed on everything that she does. I fully endorse Nancy Lewis as a worthy recipient of this award most specifically as it relates to her servant-leadership. I hope that you too will deem her worthy of such a deserving reward.
