"Time, the master of man, but a human creation nonetheless. When we wake up in the morning, our first date, when we were born and ultimately, when we die. We can't control time, but you can chose what you do with your time. Create memories, fall in love, be somebody, or just be yourself. It's your choice. So live this life the way you want to. Isn't it ABOUT TIME?"
They say "Time Management" is a skill, but we're only human, we can't possibly manage time. However, what we can do is manage ourselves within the time we're collectively given. From the second you wake in the morning, time of that particular day has already begun, and depending on your sleep schedule, it could already have been many hours that have passed by seemingly unfulfilled.
Throughout my life I've been blessed to know very successful people in many different fields of expertise, from aria award winning musicians to multi million dollar business owners, and it seems to be evident that whether you choose to sleep 4-5 hours or 8-10 and enter the bedroom at 7:30pm or 1:30am, It has little to no effect on your output of the proceeding day. Rather, it's what you do with the time you are given that determines the outcome of your life. How much output have you managed to cram into the time that speedily ticks away before another day is lost to memories?
In my last story I mentioned the graveyard being the richest place on earth. A home for all the ideas that were never realised and that may never see the light of day. Whether it's due to fear of failure or to lack of effort is irrelevant, the point is, dreams were never achieved. This has a butterfly effect on the potential outcome of history, a divergent in time perhaps. What could have been if these dreams were actualised?
Imagine if you will, that your grandfather had invented a device that aided sick people in the remote parts of Africa. This was then adopted by the masses and people all over the country are now benefiting from this invention, sick people across Africa are healing because your grandfather invested his time in fulfilling his dreams. This is a rather dramatic example, but you can replace the invention for any number of things, the point will be explained. Apart from the obvious significance of this invention and the lives saved, you and your entire family will have also benefited from his success. A ripple effect of success follows suit in situations alike. You've heard the phrase "the rich get richer"?
Now before we break into a tangent of the "I don't care for money" notion, look around. The device you're reading this article on, the roof over your head, the food in your tummy and mode of transport you use weren't purchased with IOU's, were they? and I can tell you, the life of a nomad living off the land is an exceptionally enticing one, but a somewhat unachievable one without a cent to your name. This world, as unfortunate as it is, is run by money, and it's perfectly acceptable and even an endearing attribute, to endeavour to be a success and a role model. Ah, but wealth has far more importance to you than merely appearing rich and buying fancy things and this perhaps is the downfall of our society, social media is but a blessing and a curse, but it's what you can do with your wealth and status that defines you and us as human beings. We can do so much for others when we have the means to do so...just like your fictitious grandfather. The point of that little exercise is to highlight that one persons success can affect one or even millions of people, not just your own life and isn't it a blessing to be able to give to others who are in desperate need?
Now, I could rattle on for hours about the perfect sleep cycle or the lack there of. Why meditation, cold showers and making your bed and forbidding access to your phone for the first twenty minutes are all essential, but the fact of the matter is, the moment you open your eyes, YOUR day has begun. So, now that your day has started, what you do from this moment onwards is absolutely crucial to the fulfilment of your dreams, whatever they may be. It doesn't matter how small or large your dreams are, it only matters that you dedicate the entirety of your day to the fulfilment of those dreams, or at the very least, the time between your JOB - 'Just Over Broke'. Because you aren't just affecting your life, you're affecting generations to come, this is far bigger than just one person. Besides, the world would be a far better place if we all focused on the attainment on what lies dormant in our minds.
So, Isn't it about time?
