How I got here

It was a translucent paper with a poorly drawn mermaid on top & a sea background. My brother was moving the top see through layer from side to side on top of the background painting. I was mesmerised by the magic taking place right in front of me. The mermaid appeared to be swimming in the patched water colored background but in my 5 year old mind this was a scene from an animated movie.

I’m 8 or 9 and I’ve just finished watching the classic anime movie (3x3 eyes) .I ran to the hallway and started drawing on the black board that was placed randomly in the midst of other clutter.

I can't explain the ecstasy & the euphoric sensation that took over me with every chalk stroke I made on the board, it was a beautiful new path I was carving amongst chalk dust to escape my not so glamorized childhood, filled with being bullied, paralysed by fearing people and being completely antisocial.

Many Dragon Ball Z’s later I've realised my burning urge to become an artist & an animator. I had to find a way to express my emotions and ideas other than using muttered obfuscated words that are hard to understand because I failed in becoming a sociable person.

Years zoom by and now I'm seated at a math class continuing to caricature my teachers. I started giving away funny comics at malls then proceeded to study animation & media in University and after graduation.

I was blessed and stubborn enough to be able to land a job in animation & production, however it was a job wrapped inside numerous excel sheets.I felt that my need to be creative and expressive is seeping through my fingers and escaping my grasp.

2020 happened, I got fired and as scary and unsettling as it was I was relieved not because now I have no indemnity or really any kind of security specially where I’m currently residing, but relieved that I now can walk back to Square one of finding myself, my creative self again. Needless to say it was a mixture of affinity as well a tall order on me physically, mentally and the rest of it.

The Idea

After spinning manically in a tornado of a nebulous abundance of creative ideas with no real direction with an ever growing despondent, probing for ways to take my odd animated creations to the next level, I’ve decided the easiest way for me given the circumstances and the fact I can’t build an animation team is to roll up my sleeves and do the heavy lifting work myself and Dump everything I make on Youtube. The modest response to these creations were mostly positive and encouraging however I’ve struggled immensely to get the right exposure.

My purpose is to provide philanthropist entertainment, raise awareness, and just have fun. I have many plans for the different shows on my channel to turn them into clothing lines, Toys, App games & provide an overall immersive and didactic experience.

The current content is short because it’s arduous in nature and is balancing on a precarious foundation (structurally and financially).Ideally I will take one or two of these short “samples” and turn them into a fully animated series & in future provide exclusive members access to the behind the scenes of how the content is being created, in order to inspire & push young animation content creators to pursue their dreams and creative careers, by presenting them with the blueprint, right tools & share the mistakes I’ve encountered throughout this journey stirring clear from trite methods .

Being granted the first prize will help me immensely cover my debt, and launch a pilot episode as well as invest in better ways to get exposure, build a bigger audience and map the way to introduce more rewarding ways for the audience to engage in the content including options for members exclusivity.

Embedded is a Video sample of the content I’m creating.
