A Complete Meditation Guide To Start Your Morning

Kick start your morning with this meditation routine

By Ashley M BurksPublished 4 years ago 4 min read

Meditation is one of the greatest activities you can do to have clarity and a strong sense of self. I have been meditating for several years now and it allows me to tap into my individuality which gives me calm and security. You have probably seen YouTube videos with titles that detail how you can increase your frequency from listening to the 8 hour soundtrack while your sleep, but the routine that I am going to lay out will allow you to tap into your spirit so that everything you do will be a reflection of you including the videos you choose to watch. This routine will reduce confusion and allow you to attract things from your unique space. Here is the 4 step routine.

1. Meditate

At the beginning of your day start with a quick stretch in tight areas and sit down Indian style and silence your mind. You can use a meditation playlist from YouTube, but I recommend eventually just sitting in silence so that you can get super familiar with your energy. After a few weeks of doing this you want be able to differentiate your energy from others and the best way to do that is to have time to yourself.

Even if you don’t like your energy, meditation will give you a chance to identify what you don’t like about your space and your spirit will give you a chance to create balance and harmony in your space because it can easily communicate with you. Just do everything you can to silence your mind and energy and observe what comes to you without being angry or overly excited about what you experience. Just observe your energy for the moment.

2. Get A Message From Crystals

When I was in China I purchased a bag of assorted color crystals from a local store. After I meditate I stay in tune with my energy and I reach my hand in the bag of crystals and I pull out whatever crystals want to stay in my hand. Then I analyze the number and the color (look up the meanings of colors and numbers) of the crystals to determine the message for the day. The goal of this practice is to be in an agreeable space for the day so I use the message to guide the space I need to be in during the day.

Initially this exercise may take more time than you want but over time you will remember the meanings of the colors and numbers and this will only take a few minutes. During this exercise practice energetic math. Consider how energy blends together to create a movie. Use this movie to guide your day.

Example: When I reach in my bag I get 3 blue crystals and 2 brown crystals and 1 clear crystal. This is how I would decipher the message.

3 = surroundings and casual relationships

2 = partner relationships and how you align yourself with other people

1 = individuality and personal space

Blue = ideas and communication

Brown = manifestation and bringing ideas into reality

Clear = filtering through confusion and getting to a clear space

Meaning of the crystals:

Communication in my neighborhood and building relationships with people will allow me to be stable and have a sense of security but I have to be clear on what is important to me first before I can communicate and build something with others. There are opportunities to build with others and align with people based on what is important to me but I have to be clear on who I am before I can utilize this opportunity.

3. Document Main Themes From Messages & Create A To-Do List

Write down the main messages that you get combined from your meditation and the crystals and use that to guide your day. Continuing with the example above you may want to add setting goals and dealing with past trauma to your to-do list during the day. Self work is hard guys, but it is worth it. Trust me.

4. Set intention for your day (bonus)

I find it helpful to set an intention to my day, especially on a day when I have a lot of spiritual work to do. Doing this will allow you to be rooted in a single thought and not be overwhelmed with responsibility. You will also manifest much more naturally and growing spiritually will be much easier and require much less effort.

Continuing with the example above, you may want to set an intention to connect with your emotions and trust your intuition during the day. This will allow you build relationships that reflect your inner world. These relationships will play out as a source of inspiration and motivation.

And this is the perfect morning routine to start your day. I recommend blocking out about 30 minutes initially but after a while it may take about 10 minutes at the most. This routine will give you the best advice and guidance that you could ever want to start your day and have a strong connection to your spirit throughout the entire day.
