What does happiness mean to you? A good job? Financial security? Time spent with family or friends? Exercising?
The truth is, everyone has their own definition of happiness and different things make people happy. What makes me happy doesn't mean it will make you or anyone else happy. In other words, each of us perceives happiness in our own way.
There is no single recipe for happiness, but here are 7 useful tips for a happier life.
1. BE GRATEFUL
Gratitude is one of the key factors for happiness. Be grateful and appreciate everything you have in life. Also, try to understand obstacles and challenges as an important part of life that gives you experiences and makes you learn how to grow and develop.
Start each day by paying attention to all that is good in your life. Then, choose one thing you are grateful for today and write it down on paper. In this way, you will significantly improve your mood.
Numerous studies prove the connection between gratitude and mental health. Gratitude can increase your happiness, wellbeing and even overall health.
Remember, there is always something to be grateful for.
2. EXERCISE
Physical activity can be one of the most effective ways to make you happier. Exercise comes with numerous health benefits that can lead to a happier and healthier life.
How many times has it happened that you can hardly force yourself to exercise, run or do some other physical activity, but when the training is over you are happy, satisfied and glad that you decided to get moving? It has happened to me many times.
Namely, during physical activity, body produces endorphins that create a feeling of happiness and euphoria. The amount of produced endorphins depends on the intensity and length of the exercise.
Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mood.
3. EAT HEALTHY
The secret to a happy life can be hidden in your diet. A healthy and balanced diet is key to overall health and helps your body function more efficiently.
Healthy food is rich in nutrients and by eating healthy you can feel better, have more energy, do more tasks every day and generally be happier.
It is recommended to eat a variety of food, because this is the only way to provide all the necessary substances. If it is possible, excessive intake of undesirable substances should be avoided.

4. FACE STRESS
In life we often encounter stress and we can't completely avoid it. Stress an be positive in small amounts, because it can have a good and stimulating effect on us. However, long-term exposure to stress has a negative effect on the body.
It is important to learn not to stress about the little things we can't change. When you are stressed -sit down, relax and take a deep breath. You should always say what is bothering you rather than keep it inside.
Remind yourself that everyone has some kind of stress, don't think it is all on you and you will surely be happier.
Stress less and focus on what you can control.
5. SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS
Several studies have revealed that relationships with other people are key to happiness. Close relationships with family and friends is what makes us truly happy.
Nowadays, life is often busy and hectic. It is important to always find time for your loved ones, even when you are very busy, go for coffee with friends or cook dinner together with family. For sure, you will feel happier and more fulfilled.
Family can always be a happy and safe place.
6. GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Sleep is necessary four our health and happiness. Most adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep in order for their bodies to be fully rested.
Research has shown that people who get enough sleep are generally happier. When we lack quality sleep, our emotions can be unstable because they are harder to control.
Waking up at the same time every day will actually help you sleep better at night.
Prioritizing good sleep is the beginning of happiness.
7. AVOID COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS
We often compare ourselves with other people, with their achievements, appearance or finances. Comparing will not bring us happiness and can destroy our self-confidence.
Lack of confidence is an emotional problem that is experienced by a lot of people, especially today, in the time of social media where people present an unrealistic picture of their life, that is, only the most beautiful part of it. Social media isn't real life.
Reduce your time on social media, dedicate time to yourself and accept who you are.
There is no need for comparison. Everyone in this world is different.
