7 reasons why you lose motivation after starting
mohamad ahmad said hassan
Have you ever started working with a lot of enthusiasm only to find yourself after a few weeks with no desire to work? Did you write down your new commitments for the year and then drop them a few days later? When was the last time you were motivated to achieve an important goal and then lost that motivation after a short period?
Loss of motivation is one of the worst things that can happen to someone, not only does it feel bad, but it prevents a person from reaching their goals and achieving their dreams. But why is it possible for one of us to start with a lot of enthusiasm and then lose it after a few days? If the goal had not been important to him from the start, he would not have felt this rush, so what is the explanation? The following lines will tell you the reasons that lead to a loss of motivation in order to prevent yourself from falling into this problem.
1- Your lack of confidence
In your plans:
Your mind makes you motivated when it believes that it is able to achieve your goals. If your mind does not believe for any reason that you are able to do this task, it will make you lose motivation. Thus, your mind saves your energy and makes sure that you will not make efforts except in fruitful things.
2- Fear of moving forward:
The fear of failure and a loss of self-confidence can be the main reasons for a loss of motivation. For example, if you are afraid of failure, your mind will deceive you and will not give you motivation, to prevent you from doing something that may push you towards failure or because this thing will lead to bad results that you will not be able to bear.
3. Imitate someone else's goals.
Some people set goals only because others are doing it, not because they are excited about it. For example, at the beginning of each year, many people write down new goals they want to achieve because they feel pressured that their peers have done the same without having a real desire to achieve them. When peer influence wanes, these people find themselves without motivation.
4- Acquiring negative beliefs:
The number one reason for losing motivation is your negative view of yourself or your plan. Beliefs such as "I'm late" or "I can't do this" can creep into your subconscious mind and cause you to lose motivation even if you're not aware they're there.
5- People or life events control you:
Most people start working on their new projects with great confidence, but when they hear negative comments and experience setbacks, they gradually start to acquire a negative view towards their goals and thus lose the feeling of achieving anything.
6. Set unrealistic expectations.
Many people start their plans with very unrealistic expectations. For example, many people believe that they can get rich within a few months of starting a new job or that they can get big salaries after starting a job for several months. These unrealistic expectations often lead to a loss of motivation when a person discovers how difficult life can be.
7. Impatience
Loss of patience is one of the common causes of loss of motivation. People who expect quick results and do not find them begin to believe that they have chosen the wrong path, and thus gradually lose motivation until they finally give up.
