6 Things to Boost Your Mood When You Feel Down
6 tips to be happier when you feel down

We all feel that our mood is down sometimes. Of course there are so many books, sayings, lists to feel better and make ourselves happier. But I have 6 suggestions that I believe will change your life. I must say that I am a more peaceful person by applying these 6 tips and I hope these simple methods will help you too...
1. Breath
Aside from all the scientific explanations that have been made, to put it simply, deep breathing will allow you to get out of your negative feelings, relax and calm down. Besides, aren't our lives dependents to our breaths which we really don't care about? The best part is that, you can breathe in and breathe out anywhere you like.
Breathe, everything will be fine!

2. Get an inside hobby
It's not like researchers say, but having a hobby could probably make you a happier person for sure. When you feel stressed or unhappy, you can spend your time with the things you like to do. Like drawing, writing, making accessories, cooking, making clay objects, writing poems, doing puzzles or playing an instrument.
Other than all the things I've listed above, there are so many things that you can find yourself as a hobby. Maybe you already have one, who knows.
When you are stressed or unhappy, go and do the one thing that makes you most happy. If you are at work or at some place that you are unable to do it at that moment, don't forget that a day has 24 hours. When you are free let's say after work when you go home, end the day in a peaceful way.
3. Find ways to enjoy being alone
When we are unhappy, sad or pessimistic, the first thing that comes to mind is being with a close friend, a family member or maybe our partner. In those moods, we always look for a loved one. But think like this, instead of wanting to have a protective angel with us, why won't we try to be alone and listen to ourselves? To think about how we can get rid of all those dark thoughts has gone as if we are watching on a screen. Or to reach a solution, and to be able to succeed alone without anyone's help.
Of course, this does not mean to be alone in all your unhappy moments. What I mean to say is, the possibility of being alone in your unhappy or even in your happy moments, listening to yourself, and finding out how you can handle the hard times without anyone's help is really a luxury. As we all like luxury, how about giving a chance to this kind of luxury? Believe me it will turn you into a more peaceful and more confident person.

4. Read more book
In order to become a more successful, more peaceful, more knowledgeable person in life, you can try reading novels, biographies, stories, even children's books, rather than reading books about personal development.
Undoubtedly, there are countless things that reading books will add to your life, but the first examples that can be given are; reading books will change your perspective on life and you will learn brand new words.
In my opinion, the reason reading books are the definitive solution to a happier life is that we will concentrate only on the book and turn the bad moments to happier ones.
5. Remember that everything is not about you
I think the most important cause of times when I feel unhappy and depressed is my belief that everything that happened and said is about me. Fortunately, I can get out of this mood in a short time, as I know it is a very silly thought. Thinking that not everything happening around is about us, can have quite positive effects on our mood.
I say to myself to throw these silly thoughts out of my head and you should try it either. This way you can be sure that life will be more livable.

6. Listen calming music
Another thing that is as important as reading a book in our lives is listening to music. I must say my favorite is reading books and listening to music together when my mood is not good.
When you feel down, open a song that you like which makes you remember good moments. Your mood will automatically change positively, as pleasant memories will come to your mind.
My advice is to stay away from depressive songs at times like this, no matter how much you like them. Surely every person has happy songs that they like, right?
