30 Days of Being Thankful Pt.2

What are you thankful for?

By Amanda J MollettPublished 7 years ago 3 min read

Day 9

I am thankful that 16 years ago, today, I gave birth to the best little man ever. His birth was not an easy one, but now he is a very healthy young man. He is a private in JROTC, he is saved by the Lord, he gets good grades in school, and he is a mentor to other French students. He is a loving, caring, and sweet boy. He was a boy, now he is growing into a great young man. A man a mother could be proud of. He is picking the right friends. He goes to church. He really makes a mama proud.

Day 10

I am thankful that I have a passion in my life. I have passions. I have my husband and I have my kids and I have a purpose in life. I have my writing, singing, dancing, and I have being a mom and a wife. I have things to keep my mind sharp and to keep my family proud.

Day 11

I am thankful that I have a voice. That I stand up for my loved ones, for myself, my kids, my husband, and my mother who passed away. I have a voice for all of the ones that face injustice. I once knew a boy who went to prison and he was innocent I knew a few of them that claimed they were, whether they were or not I'm not sure, but they were sure that they didn't deserve the judgment they were getting and didn't have a fair chance without a good lawyer.

Day 12

I am thankful that while she was on this earth I had such a great mama. My mom was my mother and my father. She was my rock. I miss her every day, but I carry on because she taught me what Day 9 is all about.

Day 13

I am thankful that I proved everyone wrong when they said I wouldn't still be here with my husband. Everyone was wrong about our relationship.

Day 14

I am so very thankful that I have an amazing husband. I am thankful for our marriage, for our life together. I am thankful for our family. I am thankful when he is romantic and makes me feel safe and loved. When he makes me feel supported and when he is my king. I am blessed to have found what some people can only dream of.

Day 15

I am thankful that I have a cute little kitty and that he is playful and healthy.

Day 16

I am thankful that I have a good sense of what I want and hot to get it.

Day 17

I am thankful that I now have my husband's things from his mom's house because now it feels more like things are mine.

Day 18

I am thankful that I do what I do to take care of my family. Whatever that is, I do what I need to do to take care of my family and I always will. If I had to walk across water to get to my family I would.

Day 19

I am thankful my mom and dad's marriage taught me something. She taught me what kind of marriage I wanted and didn't want. She taught me how to be a good mother. I wouldn't have had as great of a childhood as I did if it wasn't for her. She was a great cook and always came to my concerts or programs. She was always at field trips. She was always there for me no matter what. I was so proud to have her as my mother.
