20 Quotes To Inspire You To Take Risks
- David Stidston

The pathway to achieving our goals, success, happiness, satisfaction, and prosperity, in life is a damn challenging one. It's extremely rare to achieve such rewards in life without first enduring years of hard work, failures, rejections, setbacks, adversities, and wholehearted commitment. It's also about maintaining those characteristics I often talk about, being perseverance, patience, resilience, drive, and determination, throughout the entire journey. One other characteristic that's of vital importance, is that of courage. Now it's strange to think that courage can in any way be required just to chase after something we desire, because it's not as if we are going about risking our lives to get it, not usually anyway. Courage isn't all about risking our life however, it's also about risking our way of life, our method of survival, our assets, our relationships, our friendships, our finances, our lifestyle, our reputation, and so forth. I spoke yesterday about how so many of us refuse to step out of our little box that is our comfort zone, because we feel in control, we feel knowledgeable, we feel safe, and we feel routined. For some people, stepping out of their comfort zone is easy, and has become natural, whilst for most people though, this takes incredible willpower and yes, even courage. It's unfortunate that most people also lack that willpower and courage to do so, and that again comes back to fear and doubt. It's that fear of doing something awkward and uncomfortable, leading themselves into a position where they lose that control, knowledge, and safety, they are so accustomed to. The truth is though, it's mandatory to step out of our comfort zone and to be taking risks, if we are genuine about achieving our goals, success, happiness, satisfaction, and prosperity, that we desire.
So what exactly are we risking that is so vital to us, that we would be willing to sacrifice our goals, success, happiness, satisfaction, and prosperity, for? The biggest concern, that one biggest fear, that the overwhelming majority of people have, is that of losing financially. Many of our goals not only require a significant time investment, but also a significant financial one. Despite their money being invested into ultimately achieving their goals, success, and happiness, it's because of the potential for failure that spooks most people. It's those negative "what if's" that run wild through people's minds. What if it does fail? What if I invest my money for no return? What if I lose my savings, all for nothing? What if I become broke? What if I end up losing all my money? It's these individuals who allow their mindset to be dictated by negative thoughts, which in turn leads them to making negative decisions. They refuse to part with their beloved money because they treasure their funds so dearly, they want that safety net to remain there, and they don't want to risk facing having little or no funds left. In turn, they deny themselves the opportunity for greater rewards and success. Sometimes in life though, we need to go backwards before we can go forwards, and we need to go in debt before we start to profit. There is also the fear of failing, and how they will cope with the emotions of disappointment and defeat. Off the back of the decisions and actions that will lead to goal accomplishment and success, there is the fear of being judged and criticized by other people who disapprove, or who are perhaps inconvenienced in some form. There is the fear and doubt of not believing in one's abilities, not believing such success could actually become reality, or believing one lacks the required knowledge and skills to succeed. It's time we stopped focusing on the potential negatives, and started focusing on the potential positives. There is a reason why we have a unique opportunity, right in front of us, that can lead us to achieve what we desire so greatly in life. We can never discover those rewards if we fail to have the courage to take risks. Even when we take a risk, and it leads us to failure, then we need to ensure our head doesn't drop, and we don't just give up. Failure is a part of the journey to success after all. Take another risk, change actions, and keep trialing different ideas until you find one that works. You have to overcome your fears, you have to be positive minded, you have to be optimistic, you have to believe in yourself, you have to make sacrifices, you have to make changes, and above all, you have to take risks. Don't allow your fears and doubts to prevent you from achieving goals, success, happiness, satisfaction, and prosperity, in your life. Prove your courage! Here are 20 quotes to inspire you to take risks, and have the courage to pursue the life and future you desire for yourself.
