10 Ways to Feel More Confident at Work

1) Find out what your colleagues think of you

Make an effort to get close with your colleagues, as they’ll be able to provide you with valuable feedback on how you’re perceived within your organization. If you’re shy, ask your manager or someone else in a senior position for introductions. Once you’ve developed a rapport with them, ask for their honest opinion about your performance and what you can do better.

2) Realize confidence comes from within

Before you can change how you feel about your work, it’s important to have an idea of what makes you tick. If you are confident at work, chances are that it comes from deep within; if not, then perhaps a better understanding of yourself will help. To truly be confident in your own abilities requires knowing yourself well and fully believing in your skills and talents.

3) Take control of your online presence

The Web has become a part of everyone’s life and it can be a valuable tool for enhancing your professional image. Make sure you have a professional-looking photo, use social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn strategically, and remember that every post, comment or like is one more opportunity for people to see what kind of person you are. 4) Do what makes you happy

Whether you work with one person or a team of people, it’s important to treat your job as an opportunity for self-improvement. The better you are at what you do, and the more comfortable you feel in your role, the happier—and more confident—you’ll be. So find a way to incorporate some aspect of personal growth into every day on the job.

5) Master your craft

Nothing screams I’m not confident in my abilities! like being really, really bad at your job. So, it makes sense that if you become a master of your craft, you’ll be more confident. But it also works vice versa: If you’re lacking confidence in yourself and your ability to do what needs to be done, find out what specific skill sets you need to improve on.

6) Get A Good Night’s Sleep

It’s tough to feel confident when you’re tired. Don’t put yourself in a position where lack of sleep will be an issue. Get a good night’s sleep and be ready for anything!

7) Eat Healthy Foods, Stay Away From Processed Junk

Eating clean is one of the best things you can do for your body. There are a lot of benefits to eating healthy, and it may seem hard in some places, but if you make an effort to start eating more fresh food you’ll be able to go a long way. Choose lean proteins like fish, turkey and chicken over red meat when possible, and avoid processed foods as much as possible.

8) Exercise Every Day

In a way, physical activity is like confidence fuel. People who work out tend to feel better about themselves, enjoy their jobs more and are more productive on a daily basis than people who sit around all day (or night). Exercise can also help put things in perspective: Try your best to remove yourself from your comfort zone at least once per week. Go for a run or play sports you don’t necessarily excel at.

9) Surround Yourself With Successful People

You are exactly where you are right now because of your decisions in life. Surround yourself with successful people who have achieved what you want and ask them for advice on how they did it. Be sure to tell them that you value their time and don’t take up too much of it. Having some role models around can give you that extra push when times get tough!

10) Think Positively About Yourself

As humans, we are programmed with an innate fear of rejection and criticism. These fears can lead us to think negatively about ourselves and our abilities. If you find yourself in a slump, think positively about yourself, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Remind yourself that you have worth and purpose in the world. Self-confidence is a great way to build positive energy for yourself and others around you. People will respond better when they know their ideas are respected by someone who believes in themself.
