My first love
I was 20 and still in Illinois . Drowning through melancholy days and wanting a deep relationship. Everyday I prayed to have someone who would save me . I pictured a knight on horse, and we would walk through a field of flowers singing once upon a dream. When I was a kid, I always wished I’d be like Harry Potter, and someone would take me to hogwarts. I have always had a hard time fufilled. My more spiritual nature has always made me know there was more to life . I always knew there was something more for me to be doing. And so I would wait . My first crush was actually jet li growing up. So when i went to a Christmas party with my cousin I met my first husband . He looked just like jet li. He was a big shouldered male. And from the moment I saw him he was beautiful. I felt a feeling of calm and that’s what I always wanted . A feeling of calm a emotionally stable household . And after six months of talking we got married and did everything together . It was like they were my best friend . We took pictures , we put on funny masks, and were super happy . I had just went through a breakup before the party so I was still mourning that . But I was excited. We moved to california after a while and went to Disney and he said we could have a kid . It was because I was gazing at some children in front of me . Kids are so precious I really just think they are so sweet . Then after California we went back to Illinois and ended up living closer to Chicago . And after that we went to massage school . My next love is my son and I met him in august of 2021. I was having a csection. So when he came out and was crying I was so excited . I said what does he look like . And the doctor said your husband. That was one of the best moments of my life I love him so much from birth . It was really hard to go through post partum but I learned . I read books on parenting . I knew I wanted to pick the best options for what my parents lacked I wanted to do the opposite . And people say there is no manual for parenting it’s not true . There are so many books and I picked positive parenting . It worked really well . Then our marriage was going awful . It got worse and worse and worse . He always said I’d learn from what I did . That made me wonder why then do you keep getting worse. Why not learn from it . I have more experiences but this is the longest relationship I have . And this is a article based on love which is a commitment . Sure love is a feeling too love feels like a magnet. Love feels like your on the moon floating and orbiting around the stars . I had my best kiss with my ex husband after we were already over and moved on. We were twirling together it reminded me of being in orbit a mixing of blue and green energy. And we were floating . It felt in sync it felt happy and I was perplexed at why I didn’t get that our whole marriage . I really did care and I miss them still today . But openness and letting guards down were huge issues with him. So it always made me feel like I wasn’t for him . Love is so complicated . Love is feeling vibes through the phone . Love is being at a distance and still feeling eachothers heart calling.

I am sitting in my car it’s February 14th St Valentine’s Day and am staring at a store window in absolute awe of an old friend named Lizzie who I met when we were both 14. We both went to the same school in the North of England and lived opposite ends of the city. Since leaving school at age 16 we kind of went our separate ways and would only meet up when we bumped into each other from work and spontaneously go for a drink and a catch up. After wondering about Lizzie and what had become of her I finally found out 5 years later.

Understanding Arranged Marriage:
This research asks one simple question, a question many studies on the arranged marriage omit to ask, namely “What exactly is the arranged marriage?” Author Naema Tahir, born and bred in the arranged marriage culture, but educated in the free-choice marriage culture, argues that much literature on the arranged marriage fails to offer full exploration of this traditional marital system. Instead, the arranged marriage is often analysed through the lens of the modern free choice marriage system. However, this is not a neutral lens. It considers the free choice marriage to be the ideal. As a result, the arranged marriage is perceived to be a “marriage of shortcomings”, one that fails to meet the standards of the free-choice marriage system. The author encourages readers to break this frame and offers a neutral perspective on this traditional marital system practised by billions around the world. Readers are invited to an in-depth and rigorous analysis of the foundations upon which the arranged marriage system rests. While this analysis zooms in on the case study of one particular focus group, the British Pakistani diaspora, it reveals broad insights into the arranged marriage system in general. This analysis highlights and critically examines social principles fundamental to the arranged marriage system and which are much misunderstood, such as hierarchy, patriarchy, collectivism, group loyalty and the role of parental and individual marital consent. The author argues that it is vital to first understand the traditional structures of the arranged marriage, before one can understand modernizing tendencies the arranged marriage system is currently undergoing.There is a tendency in academic literature to view the arranged marriage from the lens of the autonomous marriage. In this literature the arranged marriage is compared in a binary to the autonomous marriage.1 While a comparison of the arranged marriage to the autonomous marriage should be an unbiased one, the contrary is true. From this binary, both marital systems are not viewed neutrally. The autonomous marriage, thriving on individual choice, is perceived to be the ideal marital system, while the arranged marriage, supported by traditional kin authority, is not considered ideal. Resulting from this, the autonomous marriage sets the standards of an ideal marriage all marriages must aim for, including the arranged marriage. The arranged marriage is then measured by characteristics typical of the autonomous marriage system. However, the arranged marriage, even in its most modern manifestation, is not an autonomous marriage. Monitoring the arranged marriage as if it were or should be autonomous, emphasizes defects, deficits, lacunas in the arranged marriage on matters related to autonomy. Measured this way, the arranged marriage turns into something faulty. It becomes a marriage of shortcomings.Section II will investigate biased understandings of the arranged marriage in more detail, by critically evaluating the binary approach in scholarly literature, illustrated further by a study of a variety of categorizations and close interpretation of definitions on the arranged marriage. Section II argues that in scholarly literature, the arranged marriage is framed as a lesser version of the ideal of autonomous conjugal union.
