(10 STEPS TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING)

By Maria BotuliPublished 3 years ago 8 min read

so do you want to know how to put your

wedding planning in to ten steps let me

show you

Hello lovely Brides and welcome. I provide

a weekly dose of wedding planning

goodness for the stylish bride so if you

haven't already make sure you subscribe

to my channel hit the bell and then

you'll be notified every week when a new

video lands a little secret this is the

second time I'm recording this whole

video because I did the whole thing

without this bad boy which means the

sound quality would have been rubbish

and I love you too much to provide you

with a rubbish video therefore I'm doing

the whole thing again here we go so you

may or may not have already guessed that

I am a little bit of an advocate for

mental health I hate the idea of anybody

letting overwhelm anxiety or stress

creep up on you during your wedding

planning because you know what it's not

necessary and if I can make a few steps

to help lower that stress lower that

anxiety lower that overwhelm and help

you to enjoy your wedding planning then

you know what I'm going to so let's

break your wedding planning down into 10

big steps they're quite meaty steps I'll

be honest we can't be crossing them in

there simple steps they're not simple

there are lots of steps in wedding

planning and I am grouping them into ten

but let's go through it and hopefully

this will actually keep those nasties at

bay and hope you enjoy your planning

because that's what it's all about okay

so the first step is first steps that's

what I called it okay it was originally

I know and I actually have a video on

your complete first steps so I'll link

that here but you need to be considering

your date you need to be considering

your budget you need your guests numbers

and you need to work out where you want

your wedding you know like Spain I've

ether or bath in England I don't know so

those your first steps you want to start

your Pinterest board you want to start

deciding who's going to be part of your

bridal party and you most definitely

want to make sure that you have your

spreadsheet created ready to get going

on your wedding planning

so that's number one step to budget yes

I know a kind of just mentioned it it

gets its own whole section as well

because it is a major fundamental part

of your wedding planning and I can't

stress it enough hence why I've

mentioned it once and then it gets its

whole section as well without having a

budget you will get stressed end of I

guarantee it

so please listen to this bit if you

listen to anything listen to this bit

you need to work out how much you have

got for your budget not what is a good

budget how much you have got you then

can work out how to split your budget

between suppliers and then you'll know

which suppliers to approach and you can

then add that all into the spreadsheet

that you created in section 1 again I

have a video on this so hop on over to

that if you need a bit of help ok number

3 venue the longest part of wedding

planning I'm pretty sure of it I'm

convinced in fact possibly one of the

most exciting bits but it can take time

to find the right venue

my little tip to you is it's a bit like

house hunting you need to know your

compromisable so that is now a word I've

just created it go with your gut no your

compromisable and print off my list of

30 questions to ask your wedding venue

to help you work that out I'll put a

link in the comments below to my

questions for your venue can you

actually talk in a sentence alone number

four design and style okay so you want

to work out how to inject your

personality into your wedding you want

to know how to use the venue style in

with your style and theme where can you

add the details what colour palette are

you going to have what time of year are

you getting married because you probably

want to pull that through into your

design and style so this stage really

think about your overall design and

style and how you might implement that

into the rest of your planning this is

where you can start using that Pinterest

board and creating something pretty

awesome

okay fifth step this is a big one and it

might sound a bit random but bear with

me

stationary signage guest management

seems it makes sense makes sense and

then what I've linked up guest

management and stationary because

stationery includes invites and RSVPs

and therefore that's guest management

see my logic there is a bit of logic so

stationary work out what stationary

you're actually going to include in your

wedding

are you having safe the dates

invitations RSVPs menus table plans

table names orders of the day orders of

service are you not doing any of it

you're having a wedding website

what are you doing this is where you

decide then this signage do you want

signs around your wedding venue or your

ceremony saying please take a seat not

aside or mr. and mrs. cocktails or we

welcome you to the wedding of John and

Jane was original on and so forth you

might want to scatter those sorts of

signage around your wedding you might

want them printed you might want them on

a chalkboard what are you gonna do this

is when you think about it and then

there's the guest management side which

comes back to that spreadsheet that

you've created at the beginning and

that's where you're going to implement

who's coming to the wedding who've

invited to the wedding what they're

going to eat where they're going to sit

don't forget this part this is the

logistical side of the planning super

important your caterer will love you if

you've done it properly in a spreadsheet

trust me okay then we have step six

which is the etiquette now we let occur

you don't have to follow any etiquette

rules but I suggest that you do some

research on etiquette so you should

research the different types of

etiquette and then you can throw the

rulebook out if you want to but make

sure you're aware of what is

traditionally done and then you might be

able to pick a few bits out that you

really like or just not do any of it

it's completely up to you and weddings

are a lot more relaxed now but I would

say my best piece of advice here is for

you to actually research what there is

and then you can make an informed

decision okay so let's move on to number

seven that's eight number seven there we

go

which is your actual ceremony so when

you're working on the ceremony section

you obviously want to be thinking about

what actually happens in a ceremony and

the planning of it what music you want

and where you can have music if you want

any readings or any hymns what deck or

you want throughout the ceremony

where you want people to sit if you're

being particular with that so lots of

different things to think about and it's

good to just bundle that into the

ceremony and think of that as one one

packet can't think of another word think

of that as one event in itself then we

move on to

eight got it right that time which is

the reception so in the reception you

actually have the drinks reception you

have the wedding-breakfast and you have

the evening reception I have done videos

on all three of those and the ceremony

as well so you can I'll link them below

for you to you want to consider how

they're gonna run what you're gonna eat

your style the length of time there's so

many different things to consider there

and again this is all written in my blog

post for you if you break it down into

all these sections it will make it so

much more manageable for you and less

overwhelming which is key right that's

the key okay so on to number nine I did

it that is details so with details that

is where we start thinking about the

design and style and start pulling them

through into the different areas and the

different suppliers so for example

flowers and table linens and table

styling are you going to upgrade any of

your tableware for example how are you

going to set up your guest table how are

you going to style the drinks reception

basically just run through each part of

the day when you're thinking about the

details and consider all the different

elements this is so much fun this

section if you're into style but just

bear in mind if you're not interested

you don't have to do it you can keep it

simple you can keep it held back and

just classic you don't have to go

overboard adding all the extra stuff in

is where if you're not really up for it

it can make you feel a bit stressed so

don't do it if it's not for you don't do

it and finally number 10 we have from

the day itself so you've got to make

sure that you're prepared for on the day

have you written out your full schedule

for the day when the suppliers are

arriving what's happening and actually

how the day is going to run itself then

all you have to do is relax and enjoy

yourself make sure that you've decided

who you're delegating to are you having

a wedding coordinator on the day so you

can let you go there you go thank you

very much I'm now going to not think

about anything and enjoy myself

otherwise are you going to use your

wedding party to help or a couple of

other people to delegate a few jobs too

so do bear that in mind

so there are my 10 steps now they're not

necessarily in order because some of

them kind of flow

aloud to each other obviously we've got

the first few steps which are in order

and then the rest will kind of work

parallel to each other except for the on

the day which is clearly at the end so

don't start thinking about etiquette

right at the back because those things

will sort of work alongside each other

but just by breaking them up into

sections

it just helps I think up here it just

helps you break it down I hope you found

that helpful

I hope it just lowers a little bit of

stress for you, Thanks

ceremony and reception
