Gilbert and Anne: A Love Story
Reunited and forever together

Anne and Gilbert had been separated for what had felt like an eternity. After Gilbert had left Avonlea to pursue his studies, Anne had thrown herself into her studies and her work at Green Gables. She had become so focused on her goals that she had almost forgotten about Gilbert, until one day, she received a letter from him.
The letter was short and to the point. Gilbert had finished his studies and was now a doctor. He was coming back to Avonlea and wanted to see Anne. She was overjoyed at the news and eagerly wrote back, telling him how much she had missed him and how excited she was to see him again.
When Gilbert arrived in Avonlea, Anne was waiting for him at the train station. As soon as she saw him, she ran towards him and threw her arms around him. Gilbert hugged her back tightly, feeling like he had finally come home.
Over the next few days, Gilbert and Anne spent all their time together. They went for long walks in the woods, talked for hours about their dreams and aspirations, and even went to a few dances together. It was as if no time had passed between them at all.
One day, while they were sitting by the lake, Gilbert turned to Anne and said, "Anne, I know we've been friends for a long time, but there's something I want to tell you."
Anne's heart skipped a beat. She had always secretly hoped that Gilbert would feel the same way about her as she did about him.
"I love you, Anne," Gilbert said, looking into her eyes. "I've loved you for as long as I can remember."
Anne felt tears prick her eyes as she looked at Gilbert. "I love you too, Gilbert," she said, taking his hand in hers.
From that moment on, Gilbert and Anne were inseparable. They spent every moment they could together, and it wasn't long before they realized that they couldn't imagine their lives without each other.
One day, while they were out for a walk, Gilbert took Anne's hand and said, "Anne, I have something to ask you."
Anne looked at him, her heart racing. "What is it, Gilbert?"
"Will you marry me?" Gilbert asked, getting down on one knee.
Anne looked at him, her eyes filling with tears. "Yes, Gilbert," she said, throwing her arms around him. "I will marry you."
Gilbert slipped a ring onto Anne's finger, and they held each other tightly, knowing that they were now going to spend the rest of their lives together.
As they walked back to Green Gables, hand in hand, Anne couldn't help but feel like everything was finally falling into place. She had always known that Gilbert was the one for her, and now, they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
They arrived at Green Gables to find Marilla waiting for them on the porch. When she saw the ring on Anne's finger, she threw her arms around both of them, tears streaming down her face.
"I'm so happy for you both," Marilla said. "You're going to have a wonderful life together."
And she was right. Gilbert and Anne did have a wonderful life together. They built a beautiful home, raised a family, and continued to pursue their dreams. But most importantly, they were always there for each other, through thick and thin, for the rest of their lives.
After Gilbert and Anne got engaged, they spent the next few months planning their wedding. They decided to have a small ceremony at Green Gables with just their closest family and friends.
Anne wore a beautiful white dress that she had made herself, and Gilbert looked handsome in his suit. The ceremony was simple but heartfelt, and both Anne and Gilbert felt like they were the luckiest people in the world.
After the wedding, Gilbert and Anne moved into their own home, which they had built together. It was a cozy little house with a big garden where Anne could grow her flowers and vegetables. They spent their days working hard, pursuing their dreams and enjoying each other's company.
Over the next few years, Gilbert and Anne welcomed three children into their lives. They had two boys and a girl, and they loved them more than anything in the world. Anne was a devoted mother, and she spent all of her time caring for her children and teaching them about the world around them.
Gilbert continued to work as a doctor, and he was highly respected in his field. He often worked long hours, but he always made time for his family. He would come home exhausted after a long day at work, but as soon as he saw Anne and the children, he would light up with joy.
As their children grew older, Gilbert and Anne realized that they wanted to give them the best possible education. They decided to move to the city, where there were more opportunities for their children to learn and grow.
It was a big adjustment for both of them, but they soon settled into their new life. Gilbert opened his own medical practice, and Anne started teaching at a local school. Their children thrived in the city, and they were grateful for the opportunities they had been given.
As their children grew up and left home, Gilbert and Anne found themselves with more time on their hands. They spent their days traveling, reading, and pursuing their hobbies. They were still deeply in love, and they cherished every moment they had together.
In their old age, Gilbert and Anne looked back on their lives with happiness and contentment. They had built a beautiful life together, full of love and laughter. They knew that they had been blessed with a wonderful marriage, and they were grateful for each other every day.
