When Cake, and Pasta Push You Towards Sickness!
Yes, the preservatives are inflammatory agents

If I had my way, I would not buy any processed foods. I would cook everything from scratch, and that’s what I usually do.
My spouse, however, is almost slave of his tongue, and he buys a lot of processed foods. I don’t eat much of it, but whatever I do eat, even occasionally, makes me feel uncomfortable. I don’t know if other people feel these adverse impacts or not, but I am very alert and I notice the signals, my body gives.
For two days, I had been eating a few dollops of the crème brûlée cake he had bought. And today morning, when I woke up, there was mild edema around one eye. I wasn’t too bothered because it was mild and I knew that after half an hour of walking around, it would go away, and it did.
Then in the afternoon he made pasta with processed chicken nuggets and lots of sauce. It was delicious, no wonder, but within fifteen minutes of eating it, I felt tingling in my nostrils. It seemed my heartbeat was slightly faster. I also noticed windpipe tightening. Some skin crawling too.
All of these are signs of hypersensitivity to food preservatives. Most people may not even notice these responses.
But about ten years back, I had a terrible cockroach allergy. I suffered for four years. It’s as if I did another PhD in health science, and now I notice even the slightest inflammation in my body.
I had severe health reactions after eating processed yogurt and mixed tree nuts. It is scary, almost teetering at the edge of death. If I had not endured these issues, then I would have been so serious about the risks of food preservatives.
The recent cake and pasta allergy alerted me again. I won’t let the chemical allergens ruin my health. I’m going to cook dinner from scratch, rice, lentils, and vegetables.
But I keep wondering how we have come to this stage where food, instead of nourishing us, is making us sick. We call ourselves modern human beings. But we are acting extremely gullible.
Yes, the basic ingredients are the same. Cereal, sugar, salt, oil, fat, but there are too many preservatives in processed foods. These ingredients are seen as inflammatory agents, it’s because our immune system has not evolved to digest them. We don’t have the enzymes for degrading many of these chemicals.
Just like eating an Amanita mushroom will kill us because we lack the enzyme to digest it, similarly, the body doesn’t have the enzymes to handle many preservatives.
And many of them act like estrogen mimics. Estrogen mimics are hormone disruptors, the carcinogens. So, we are pushing ourselves towards cancer, chasing something easy and delicious.
I keep writing on this topic because, as they say, a helping hand is better than a preaching mouth. I don’t want to pray after someone gets sick. I want to warn before it happens. Unfortunately, there is not enough awareness.
Please be aware of the dangers of preservatives. They are omnipresent and often escape our vigilance because they are invisible. Our immune system becomes overactive when it repeatedly encounters these chemicals.
Frequent exposure and constant agitation of the immune system, makes the body inflamed, the root of almost all diseases.
If these days high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, leaky gut, infertility, eczema, obesity, allergies, and arthritis are so common, there is a reason for that. We are filling our bodies with junk. How will the body thrive in the face of such assaults?
Please, question your food choices. Try to eat homemade, low processed foods.
I hope this story helps you make better choices. Thank you for reading.
