Treat it How YOU Want to be Treated

From a young age, most Americans (most of the world honestly) is taught "treat other's how you want to be treated". A statement in the bible, written so long ago but still so important today. That phrase has become so much more than just a verse in a book, it has become a way that the human race strives to achieve. However, despite the hate towards each other due to our religiousness beliefs, skin tones or cultures; our planet should be treated the way WE want to be treated.

The planet is a living, breathing thing. It may not have a soul or have the qualifications to be "alive" BUT it is alive. Think of the earth as a human body, we are so careful with what we digest because we want our personal temples to be well preserved creating it's longevity. Earth is the exact same way. We are killing her.

She, like us, majority made up of water. Water that we pollute with our trash and water systems. She breathes air, air which we destroy with our cars and factories. She creates the beginning and the end for us to be able to live and we repay her with treating her as if she means nothing. We sit here and lavish in our technology, making our lives easier but at what cost? The cost of the ONE known place in our solar system right now that allows us to actually survive. Almost every single human fears death, wants a to leave behind a legacy and doesn't want to be forgotten. As a race on this beautiful, charismatic planet we are the soul reason she is dying. We are the parasite.

With using the metaphor from before, what do we do when we get sick? How do we combat it? We take medicine and try to get it out of our system. Before long, she will start to do that to us BUT she wont just be taking us, she will be taking everything. You, your families, your pets, the things you so truly care about. You may think "oh I wont be alive for when the end comes", you are correct, you may not be. Your family will be though, the family you haven't met yet or your family reincarnations. Whatever you might believe, it may not effect you directly but it will demolish us all.

What would you do to protect your home and those within? Absolutely anything? You are wrong. You aren't doing anything at all. This entire planet is our HOME. It doesn't matter what clothes you wear, your location, your culture, sexuality, political views, beliefs, nothing. None of that matters. What matters is the necessities we need to actually live. Earth, water, fire and air. The things she graces us with on a daily basis. You may not know it, but she does. We may be able to artificially create some of these things, if not all but what is the point to do so if we do not take care of what helped us be in the first place?

I am not the best writer in the world, nor do I claim to be. This is probably full of mistakes, we all make them. The fact or the matter is - I am just a human, just like you. I am willing to take a stand despite the faults and try to have a place for us to live on, I want to save OUR HOME. Even if you are so different from myself. What about you? What will you do? Change is a ripple, just like a pebble in the water. One decision can change the course. It may be small but if all 7.8 Billion people stand together, deciding to actually, we will be unstoppable.. we could save our home. It just starts with you. Treat the Earth how YOU want to be treated. Love this generous living thing, as you would the person you live with.
