Saining
Saining Not Smudging Saining is the Scottish Folk magic act of purification. It’s similar to the idea of smudging but very different. Importantly it’s a cultural relevant practice and is one available for folks who work within the Scottish folk magic or other pagan based folk magic. There has been a lot of conversation around appropriation of certain practices across the world by westerners. A lot of people using White Sage to smudge is a great example of this. There is a lot of, backlash and anger from Native American people and others to stop folk using Sage to smudge in their efforts to purify their spaces. Others cite the overharvesting of the plant in the wild and other issues caused by the commodification of these native practices by predominantly white western Capitalists eager to cash in on the latest "white person" trend adding to it becoming problematic. Therefor we need to look at naturalized harvesting and using herbs from all around us. All Of Dea’s ( the company I use)herbs are grown in their local garden and/or harvested in a way that promotes the growth of our natural prairie sage in the wild. New herbs are being harvested every year, with the blessings of mother nature and Gaia

Weekly Reading #36 for 2021 Mirror Dragon Tarot
Mirror Dragon Tarot Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

The Dark Night of the Soul
Every living being on planet earth is a spiritual being. Every encounter you have with another being is a spiritual encounter. There is no divide. People don't believe in spirituality, we are all living a spiritual experience. Many people dabble in the shallow end of a spiritual journey, gathering information, but never getting to the point of implementation. The souls that have ventured deep into themselves to be able to see exactly how it's manifested as their reality are the souls that have endured the dark night of the soul.

Spiritual and Ego Battle
The process of learning who you truly are can be very difficult. You may think you are a good person until your deeds are judged and everything is thrown back to you. Unknowingly we as humans like to believe we are the best person ever and our guilt and shame hides itself. We can become distracted from our highest calling by feeding the ego. Ego becomes challenged when your spirit is rising and wanting you to become the authentic self you are meant to be. Spiritual warfare is a mental, soul, and physical battle, an emotional upheaval of past traumas that are coming to the surface it will make you feel unstable and unsafe. The triggers are for you to see the truth of who you are, and deal with the insecurities that have been built up. Of course the ego wants to push the work aside and pretend that everything is ok. If you don’t deal with the issues of self God, will make you by stripping everything away from you until you obey.
