Reading for 8-23 thru 8-29-21

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

This week we have three Major Arcana cards. For those of you who don’t know the ins and outs of Tarot, the Major Arcana signify the larger life lessons the soul has chosen to experience while here in physical form. They’re meant as a guide for the soul’s journey. The Minor Arcana deal with the everyday challenges and successes we encounter that act as a sort of road map leading us towards those larger lessons.

The Center card this week is the Universe. (RWS World)

This is the final card of the Major Arcana and represents all things manifest; the big-picture, showing all things made real. The first card of the Majors is The Fool. Represented by the number zero, The Fool shows us all things possible. Zero represents the Void, that into which all things are created, pure possibility. As we move through the twenty other cards in this section we add the options, choices and realizations of our journey from the purity of the Void to the universe of all things made real. With the Universe at the center this week we have an opportunity to see how things turn out. Along with that we can also see the many options that our progress offers. From this high vantage point we can see realities stripped of the clouds of fantasy, confusion and indecision. What we discover may appear harsher than the images in our dreams by showing us the truth or they can show us how productive, courageous and wise we are. Either way, The Universe shows us what we have created.

The West card is The Sun.

The Sun is the most radiant card in the deck. It’s like a dance in the sunlight, joy, beauty, love and security. The Sun also illuminates. It defines the shadows. It allows us to look at what’s defined by the light and make a choice about what we want to have in our lives. Not that we will always choose the lighter, easier way. We may choose to delve into the shadows that are now well defined, to dispel the fear, confusion or pain found there because we can clearly see what’s available on the other side. Consider the situation of someone in a job or relationship that’s not working or simply takes more from them than it returns. With the brilliance of the Sun and the clarity of The Universe, the choices are laid out and the risk of taking a stand for what we want and need is reduced to a viable option.

The East card is The Priestess.

The priestess represents the inner knowing we all have that we’re part of something greater than the singular person that we are. Throughout human history people have sought their connection with that greater whole, building great religions, sects, brother/sisterhoods, writing doctrines and laws meant to define and teach others how to reconnect with that Unity. While the High Priest shows us the machinations we devise to define the connection, the Priestess IS that Unity.

In conclusion;

This week we have the chance to see the “bigger picture”. The brilliance of The Sun and the resonance of the Priestess’ Universal One allow us to get a clear idea of who we are and what we choose to be in this macrocosm of life we’re experiencing.

Have a brilliant week!

Light, Tory

TIP for the week: If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.
