SURPRISE
I miss my flight to leave back to Arizona. My first time ever to miss a flight. So now my entire day will be lagging, I call the Q.C. Manager, she says I'll see you when you get here. Everyone is happy I'm back to work, I'm the head of Quality Control Managers' right-hand man/woman in this case; as well as being the Document Control Specialist, just some big title that's all that is. I do not like being "on-call" after I leave work to go home. I've hired on with Moll Medical, div. of Moll Industries Inc. they've since closed the doors in Tucson and possibly even in Texas, but I was lucky enough to be hired on to move the Costa Mesa location that was manufacturing devices for 22 years to the Tucson location, the only team players were the Plant Manager that actually made the move with the company. Nobody else from California moved with it, so, all the new hires that were sent to Costa Mesa were housed at an extended stay for 6 months, it was a nice little vaca away from Tucson. The Little Vietnamese woman that trained me didn't want me to leave Carol, she even offered me her home to stay with her & her husband if I wanted to, she was such a sweetheart. She was adopted to a Christian family as a refugee and raised in Seattle, WA. She said at the first meeting to me, I reminded her of her stepsister. That sounded so weird. But, look at all the celebrities adopting kids from other countries. It's not that weird really.

The Sharp Edge Of A Blade
It was a beautiful April day. I had just woken up in anticipation to go hunting. I've been planning this with my friends for weeks and the day was finally upon us. This was the season to hunt Iguanas. The sad truth about it was that the hunting season was not in effect and getting caught would lead to getting in trouble with the law. This is the time of year which the Iguanas are pregnant and venture out for food before they lay their eggs come the first thunderstorm of the season. For us it was the perfect time to hunt as the eggs were the best part to eat. A single Iguana can lay anywhere from fifty to sixty eggs at a time which is more than enough not to over hunt as we were also mindful of the nature in our wrong doings. I was to meet up with one of my best friend Mark and we would travel to meet his uncle before we headed out. His uncle was skilled in the hunting art and knew where and how to look for our prey. I had a great feeling that today would be a glorious day. Who knows what would be in store for us.

'Living' with the hell of Postherpetic Neuralgia and Peripheral Neuropathy
When I was two years of age in 1954, and still living in England, I ruined a family holiday in the Isle of Wight. A couple of days into the holiday, I came down with chickenpox and we had to go home. Who would have thought karma could apply to an innocent toddler? It certainly feels like it now.

Recovery
Walking out of the darkness was a new thing to me. Coming out of it, you asked, "What of a new place did I walk into that so bright and so vibrant, I can breathe with freedom. The new oxygen that will clean all of the toxinity that evil has left from your body.

The Impact of COVID-19 on Medical Travel and Tourism
It wasn’t too long ago when COVID-19 was an unknown term. However, by the first quarter of 2020, everyone already knew about the new coronavirus strain causing it. Soon, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.

THE BIG V IS FOR ME VEGAN
It all started two years ago, my very first bout with colitis! I did not feel good and a good thing my friend was helping me with the housework. I went to my bed with a stomach ache. I thought it would go away, but it kept on getting worse. I had to go to the bathroom and I felt like vomiting too! As I was walking to the bathroom I fainted. My toy poodle ran and got my friend and she saw me on the floor. I heard her call my name but I could not get up from the floor. My friend called my daughter and my daughter told her to call the paramedics. The paramedics came and took me to the hospital. My daughter came to the hospital and told me how my dog Smokie got her to come to me. I said he is smart, poodles are very smart and Smokie had a college degree! I asked my daughter where is Smokie she said home. I said well He needs to have a big treat!

Wear Your Mask Please
If you’re not tucked away in a little mountaintop cave without wifi, chances are you’ve heard about the Coronavirus. If you told me 12-months ago that we were about to go into a global pandemic of epic proportions, with lockdowns around the world, and staggering stats including over 200,000 deaths in the US and rising, I would’ve thought “Wow really? That’s crazy! It sounds like a science-fiction film”

Cancer Sucks
In Nov. 2012 after a my annual mammogram - I was diagnosed with cancer, ... in my right breast!!! WTH???!!! CANCER!??? SERIOUSLY!!!???? THAT was totally unexpected, right?! Last thing I expected to hear after having my usual, yearly mammogram, but there it was - the "C" word, CANCER!!! I was floored, ... dumbstruck, ... but I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and started the ball rolling with everything that needed to be done to kick that "C" in the ass - with a motto that stated "It is what it is". I had a GREAT doctors (the one who caught it) and she had me seeing someone ASAP re: everything pertaining to dealing with this! I ended up with seeing a number of doctors over the course of treatment and all. Met with an AWESOME reconstructive surgeon, an equally awesome breast doctor, and oncologist. Tests, tests, & more tests. Right breast mastectomy was scheduled and performed. There was some healing to be done afterwards before we could go the next step. Radiation followed for 6 weeks, 5 days a week, which I scheduled after work each day. Surprisingly enough I didn't feel wiped out like some I've heard. Also, I was fortunate and I did not have to do chemotherapy, thank goodness (though I did cut my hair by some 4-5inches, just in case that was something I'd have to do). Then more healing to be had before I could schedule surgery to reduce the size of my left breast and reconstruction of my right breast (they had to match up, no?). Who knew that the extra weight I had carried around my middle for years was going to go to good use after all this time! :) A tummy tuck like surgery gave me what was needed for constructing a right breast! However, reconstructing a right nipple wasn't something that works well, ... so I'd heard, and research and all. Soooo ... I decided to find something that would work for me! Hello internet for ideas! I settled on something I found that was attached to an "Alice in Wonderland" quote - though I now have forgotten the quote. It's a sketch of a button, a needle & thread (as I am a pretty crafty person - I thought it was perfect for me). I found a SUPER cool gal tattoo artist locally and had THAT tattoo'd onto my right breast where a nipple would normally be found. It looks GREAT! Works for me! And best yet, due to numbness of the reconstructed breast, ... I didn't feel a thing during the tattooing (yes, I'm a pansy when it comes to pain, huge baby when it comes to pain & I've had both knees replaced, but THAT is a whole different story - so the numbness worked for me)!! BONUS, I say! During follow-up appointments with my doctors they were surprised by what they saw and thought it was pretty darn cool. I was very pleased with how it turned it! So much so, I had no problem showing it to anyone I wanted to! Survivor Mode! :) This may not be for everyone, ... cuz goodness knows everyone is different, ... but it works for me and I am now some 7+yrs cancer free. Attached is a picture of my tattoo'd nipple. And - lastly - CANCER SUCKS! Cheers to all.
