Sister Bonding

Highlight of my Day

Today felt like a long day at the campus. I was looking forward to the warm shower and comforting clothes, to unwind. Opening the door I greet my mom with a bear hug and then skipped to my room, putting the bag on the dresser, I removed the clip letting my hair loose - finger combing through it, I grab my towel and head for the shower.

The falling water drops felt soothing. Each drop of water that hit my skin was like a mini rejuvenation therapy. A dollop of the shampoo that now covered my head is going to make my head small like lavender. Rinsing of the shampoo and feeling the squeaky clean hair free from the scent of ethanol.

To remove the scent of ethanol the stuck to the body I grabbed a generous amount of peachy soap and begin with the lathering. With a towel I stepped out smelling of peaches and lavender. I put on a cozy top and trousers. Leaving the hair to air-dry I skipped to the kitchen.

Skidding to stop at the entrance - an unexpected person was at the table, 'My younger sister's. This is a big suprise my younger siblings are rarely let out early from their campus.

Enjoying the warm meal and listening to my sister as she talked was quiet opposite to the silent peaceful lunch times I am used to. She is quiet a chatterbox. With lunch done I helped mom clean up and now I am dragged by annoying younger sister. Those puppy eyes. Ah!

As soon as I entered her messy room I felt as if I was pulled into the wonderland from Alice. Too little space but a lot of weird things and trinkets covered the bright room. Carefully stepping towards the table of Mad Hatter I waited for tea - He! He! He!

To my disappointment I was not served tea in the fancy tea set with a plate of cakes and biscuits instead I got a handful of elastic strings, jewelry clasps and colourful beads. I finally understood instead of 'Tea Time' it is going to be 'Creative Time'.

I have worked with real jewelry before. It had caught my interest and decided to dabble on it. It was a long process many hours went into it put in the end I was satisfied with the necklace that I made. The shop owner was also impressed and it got placed as a show-piece.

I know this seems childish but can't help it because it is fun. Let's get started! Here comes a beautiful bracelet. Choosing the beads we started the process of creativity. As we worked side by side, we chatted & laughed, sharing stories and childhood memories. It was a sisterly bonding experience.

Time flew by as we were having fun and now our bracelets are ready. Her's was a vibrant mix of various shades of purple with charms dangling at an equal distance, it certainly had a charm of it's own. Mine on the other hand metallic blue beads mixed with silver beads with alphabets. As usual both bracelets went into my sisters bracelets collection - this collection is no way small it is reaching upto 300+.

In a mood for snacks we cleaned up the work area putting away the supplies before heading to the kitchen. This was more than just a fun activity - it was a special moment of connection and bonding that I will always treasure. I can't wait for our next creative adventure together.

So, What do you wanna hear next; How and when I made real jewelry? Or Me describing my sister's Alice in the Wonderland styled room?
