Seminal vesiculitis, a condition that is often overlooked by many men, is one of the primary infectious diseases affecting the male reproductive system, similar to prostatitis. This condition primarily affects men between the ages of 20 and 40, and its main clinical manifestations include white discharge and blood in semen. Other symptoms, such as a burning sensation during urination, frequent urination, urgency, dysuria, and hematuria, resemble those of prostatitis.

Notably, patients with seminal vesiculitis often experience the dripping of white secretion from the urethra in the morning, a symptom known as "dripping white."

The Devastating Impact of Seminal Vesiculitis:

Like many other male reproductive diseases, seminal vesiculitis can have devastating consequences, potentially leading to infertility, especially when the condition becomes chronic and coexists with chronic prostatitis. There are several reasons why seminal vesiculitis can result in infertility:

1. Approximately 90% of semen is produced by the seminal vesicles. Inflammation of the seminal vesicles can reduce the secretion of seminal fluid, affecting sperm vitality and semen quantity, ultimately leading to male infertility.

2. When seminal vesiculitis coexists with prostatitis, bacteria can contaminate the seminal fluid, causing interference with lactate substances and bacterial toxins. Bacteria can consume nutrients in the seminal fluid, deplete oxygen supply, and result in decreased fertility.

3. Seminal vesiculitis can increase the production of acidic substances, leading to sperm death and a decrease in sperm count.

4. When seminal vesiculitis occurs, the viscosity of semen can abruptly increase due to the presence of bacteria and a large number of white blood cells. Increased viscosity reduces sperm motility.

As mentioned earlier, seminal vesiculitis is one of the common infectious diseases in men, primarily characterized by blood in semen. It is important to note that the condition can manifest as either acute or chronic, and the clinical presentation may vary among individuals.

If you experience the following symptoms, you should seek prompt medical attention:

1. Pain: Acute cases may present with lower abdominal pain, extending to the perineum and both sides of the inguinal region. Chronic cases may involve intermittent pain in the pubic region, accompanied by discomfort in the perineum. Pain symptoms tend to worsen during ejaculation.

2. Frequent Urination, Urgency, and Dysuria: Acute cases often exhibit pronounced urgency and dysuria, and may also include difficulty in urination. Chronic cases are characterized by frequent urination, urgency, discomfort during urination, and a burning sensation.

3. Hematospermia: This refers to the presence of blood in semen, which may appear as pink or red semen or contain blood clots. Hematospermia is more prominent in acute cases.

4. Other Symptoms: Patients may experience fever, chills, shivering (typical systemic symptoms of acute seminal vesiculitis), and hematuria, which is another manifestation of acute seminal vesiculitis. Chronic cases may present with ejaculation pain, decreased libido, seminal emission during sleep, and premature ejaculation.

If the above symptoms occur, pay attention to it. Patients can choose traditional Chinese medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill for treatment.

How to maintaining seminal vesiculitis health?

Although the treatment of seminal vesiculitis can be challenging, and there is a risk of infertility, it is important to note that seminal vesiculitis is not a lifelong disease. With proper treatment, a cure is achievable. Patients should avoid self-medication driven by embarrassment or impatience. Here are some tips for maintaining seminal vesiculitis health:

1. Adopt healthy lifestyle habits to prevent excessive fatigue, avoid colds, and improve overall physical fitness through exercise.

2. Regulate sexual activity, avoiding frequent intercourse and masturbation to reduce excessive congestion of the prostate and the occurrence of genital infections.

3. Pay attention to dietary hygiene, primarily consuming a light diet and avoiding spicy foods.

4. Drink plenty of water and avoid holding urine to facilitate the discharge of prostatic secretions.
