Qigong Saved My Life

Part II

This is a true account of the author's experience.

My plane landed in Minneapolis on the morning of December 15th 2009. It was so cold that my still damp hair froze as I walked through the parking lot of my hotel to the healing center that was just across it. This was my first day at Spring Forest Qigong to see Chunyi Lin, the Qigong master who I scheduled 6 healing sessions with over the next 3 days.

I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and sat down, still very nervous, as I waited to be called in. An intake interview came next and I described all that had taken place with my illness over the last 1.5 years. Everyone at the healing center was warm and friendly and I began to relax.

The first part of my session consisted of me sitting comfortably with my eyes closed as one of the healers "worked" on me. Did I feel anything during this session? Yes! My entire face began to itch strongly which was very uncomfortable and my head began to move slowly in a circular motion. Though my eyes were closed I sensed a very strong brightness as though a flashlight was being pointed directly at my face. Master Lin came in for the last 10 minutes of the session to take over the energy work.

After my first two sessions on the first day, I was back at the hotel and felt an enormous positive energy. It was as though a wonderful vibration coursed throughout my body along with a warm, comfortable sensation. "Something" was happening and I was optimistic once again about my decision to take this route for healing.

I woke the next morning and found that my irregular bleeding was worse as well as my pelvic pain but I did not panic as I already decided to trust this process. A huge sense of anger had come over me which I did not expect. I mentioned this to Darcy, one of the healers when I came in for my first session that day and she smiled and nodded confirming that it was a good thing.

I have since learned that reconnecting with deep latent emotions such as anger is a sign of healing as well as symptoms of illness getting worse after energy work begins. Why? It was explained to me that with Qigong symptoms of illness can initially be worse as the positive energy clashes with the negative energy that causes the disease.

The second day was much like the first and I had my two scheduled healing sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. What happened next gave me both hope and doubt. After 37 continuous days of irregular spotting, the bleeding stopped completely. Naturally I was happy for the obvious reasons but also had reservations about it being permanent and feared it might come back.

The last day of my healing experience differed in that previously none of the healers ever made physical contact with me. At the end of my very last session Master Lin very gently touched the top of my head and also my knee. I knew that I was fundamentally changed and I talked with Master Lin about what to expect next.

I said to him "Master Lin, if I keep doing the Qigong exercises, will I continue to heal and improve with my health?" He smiled and nodded gently as he said "yes". I purchased his book, Born A Healer, and made my way back to the hotel for the last time.

After getting back home I continued with the exercises I learned at Spring Forest Qigong and happily, my health did continue to improve. The bleeding did not return and the pain lessened as time went by. My overall demeanor got better as well and I became calmer and happier about life in general. Of course, that will happen when you feel you have been rescued from the jaws of death, won't it?

Six months later an exam revealed the large mass was gone as well as the smaller ones in my breast and right underarm. I had no further abnormal bleeding. The dead expression in my eyes also left and slowly I regained my former vibrancy. Was the illness that I had cancer? I don't know since I was never tested for malignancy. I only know that I was ill in a way that I felt I would not be on this earth plane much longer if did not find a solution to regain my health.

It has been 12 years since my healing adventure and I am forever grateful to Master Lin and Spring Forest Qigong for saving my life. Looking back, I believe that it was my fate to become ill so that I could get back in touch with my spirituality and be set on a path of higher awareness. Of course, other factors such as karma play into it as well.

So, to those of you who are ill I would say never lose hope. Whether you decide on traditional medicine or alternative healing always remember something that Einstein once said. "Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another." Illness, like everything else in this world, is fundamentally energy. Never underestimate the ability for your body, mind and soul to be changed for the better.
