One Way to Live Longer That We ALL Overlook
Will you give up thinking for longevity?
I used to want to live forever. Now, that is not the case. But with that being said, I would like to live a long and healthy life. One thing that I discovered while listening to Eckhart Tolle, who was born in the 1940s, is that he looks like he's in his forties, but he's actually in his 70's!

(in the link above he is 63 years young)
It's so rare and shocking to see him speak, to think that a man of that age and his hair isn't even completely gray!
The secret to his vitality is that he stays centered in the present moment, in the now. He does not worry about the future or dwell on the past, and the lack of that does wonders for the human body.
The human mind is an undoubtedly beautiful thing, capable of creating art and spinning tales that entrap one, but it can also be a cause for great destruction. Where we are in current times is being too caught up in the "what-ifs", too caught up in the ego. The ego is what is killing this world and us faster than natural.
The mind and the ego at this time are bound, and the ego is a psychic parasite that does not care about it's host. It does not care about longevity. It only cares about feeding, getting more energy, and perpetuating itself as long as it can into the future.
When you worry about what will happen in the future, you are not present, and you're giving your precious energy to that psychic parasite that feeds on negativity. That negativity in turn affects your body, making you age faster than you should.
It takes energy to think, and overthinking is the root of depression, stress, anger, and the insanity that currently plagues the world. To take steps away from insanity and towards being present is as easy as watching your breath and your mind. Do not try to stop it like someone trying to stop a burst water line by hand, simply watch the stream and let it tire itself out.
Detaching yourself (your being) from your overworked mind can dramatically help in reducing stress and adding to longevity. We have all had those moments in our day when we go "huh, I wasn't thinking there for a second" in a way that makes you want more, and the key, door, and gatekeeper to feeling that all the time is you.
Freedom from internal and external responses to outside stresses makes one an island in an ocean of uncertainty, and if we all took steps towards this goal the world would be a much better place than it is today.
A fascinating thing is that the ego does not look inward as a rule except for negativity, so many in the search of living longer say "What can I eat to live longer" or "what exercises can I do to be more fit" but not "Is my redundant lines of thought I think every single day habitually draining my life force?"
