Misunderstood Uric Acid

Uric acid

When it comes to uric acid, many people think of gout. In the impression of many gout patients, once the uric acid increases, the pain of an acute attack of gout seems to reappear. In fact, does uric acid really only bring sickness and pain to humans?

Uric acid is a heterocyclic compound containing carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen. Its molecular formula is C5H4N4O3 and its molecular weight is 168.1103 g/mol. The production and excretion of uric acid in the body are not balanced, leading to diseases caused by elevated blood uric acid. It is the main cause of gout. In the choice of suppressing high uric acid, try to choose some natural plants with low toxic side effects to lower uric acid, such as Sui Di acid tea, etc., because some uric acid lowering toxic side effects have greater side effects, causing secondary damage to the body. Uric acid: the main metabolite of birds and reptiles, slightly soluble in water, easy to form crystals. The product in normal human urine is mainly urea with a small amount of uric acid. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. It is a trioxypurine, and its alcohol form is weakly acidic. Uric acid generated after oxidation of various purines is excreted in urine.

Under normal circumstances, there are about 1200 mg of uric acid in the body, about 600 mg is newly produced every day, and 600 mg is excreted at the same time, in a balanced state. However, if the body produces too much to be excreted or the uric acid excretion mechanism is degraded, there will be too much uric acid in the body. When the blood uric acid concentration is greater than 7 mg/liter, the body fluid will become acidic and affect the normal function of human cells. Long-term neglect will cause gout. . In addition, too much fatigue or lack of rest can also lead to relatively slow metabolism leading to the onset of gout.

All blood uric acid is filtered from the glomerulus, 98% of which is secreted into the glomerular lumen in the middle of the proximal convoluted tubule, and then 50% of the reabsorbed uric acid is secreted into the lumen of the renal tubule in the middle of the proximal convoluted tubule. In the straight section of the proximal convoluted tubule, 40%~44% is reabsorbed, and only 6%~10% uric acid is excreted. The production and excretion rate of uric acid in normal humans is relatively constant. Changes in the content of uric acid in body fluids can fully reflect the status of the body's metabolism, immunity and other functions.

The existence of uric acid in the human body is the result of human evolution. As humans gradually stand up, uric acid gradually accumulates in the human body. The ancient ancestors just stood up, and the food they ingested contained very little salt. In order to maintain upright blood pressure in a low-salt state, uric acid played a vital role. As a result, a metabolic pathway of uric acid is cut off in the human body, that is, the process of uric acid being decomposed into allantoin by urate oxidase disappears. Uric acid in the human body also tends to be stable.

More and more studies have shown that the increase in uric acid is related to the intellectual leap of humans. Uric acid can stimulate the cerebral cortex and increase intelligence. The stable uric acid environment makes it easier for the human body to store fat, enough to supply glucose to the brain. Therefore, studies have shown that the level of uric acid in people with high IQ is higher than that of ordinary people, and the incidence of gout is also higher.

Uric acid is a very important natural antioxidant that can eliminate free radicals, prevent cell lysis and apoptosis, protect vascular endothelial DNA, maintain the body's immune function, and allow humans to thrive and survive.

But why in the eyes of modern people, uric acid is a major obstacle to healthy life? Compared with the way of life of ancient ancestors, in today's society, people's dietary structure has undergone tremendous changes. High-calorie foods are no longer scarce, and high-purine foods have become daily routines. This causes the phenomenon of high uric acid, and the benefits of a stable uric acid environment are hidden. The only thing that pervades the stereotype of ordinary people is uric acid that brings the painful torture of gout.

So what we have to do is not to treat uric acid as a badass and wait for it to disappear. Instead, you should control your diet and lifestyle, and keep uric acid within a normal and stable range. The normal range of uric acid is 202-416umol/l. (Uric acid with fasting value not measured twice on the same day) Too low uric acid is also undesirable, and will increase the incidence of cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. Keep uric acid within a reasonable level, it will become a positive effect!
