It Is Cancer: Why Be Silent and Suffer?
What can I say? Being told I have cancer was a shock, but breast cancer was a kicker. All my live, I have complained about having breasts; the fact they got in my way when riding my horses or when I wanted to beat my brothers in a shooting or archery competition. But to have heard one of the specialists say, "You have confirmed breast cancer, we were lucky we found it by a mistake" (great find, I guess)... that was when my world changed.

Every Little Step
It started when I was 17. I remember it like it was yesterday. The week after Thanksgiving, my life changed forever. Wait, let me back up. For about a week and a half before this life altering experience, my body gave me signs. I was feeling young, invincible, and was naive, so I didn't know what they meant. My lower back was hurting waaaay more normal than I think was normal for someone who never experienced any type of body trauma, my left leg kept feeling like I was about to get a Charlie horse then my body decided nevermind and I just wasn't feeling like "myself."

How Yoga and Mediation Changed my Life
Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga are fast-growing trends in Western culture today, but these ancient practices date as far back as 200-400 BC, originating in India. There are five ancient branches of Yoga: Hatha, (Pronounced Ha-Ta), Bhakti, Karma, Raja, and Jnana. Mindfulness meditation ties in with the Yogic belief of being "present," and being focused on the now, rather than the past or the future. The practice of breathing and going with the "flow" of Yoga may seem mundane, but the effects of the breath tied in with movement of the body instills a calmness, and provides strength and oxygen to the muscles while holding many forms. The beauty of the many branches is that one can find a practice that suits them, whether at home in front of the TV or balancing on your hands in a Bikram studio... There is truly something for everyone. Most practices include moments or even large sections of time in meditation, deep breathing powerfully while attempting to calm and clear the mind.

Faith for an S-Shaped Back
It's crazy to think how quickly something can change your life forever. The slightest thing can cause a huge impact… From either just carrying a heavy bag to doing sit-ups or walking with the wrong "technique." I never even thought about the implications of carrying a side bag instead of a backpack with all my books in (ones I sometimes didn’t even need for the day) in my bag for school EVERY DAY!

20 Things I've Chosen to Stop Giving a Shit About
As an anxiety-stricken millennial, I have found that the source of most of my problems is that I seem to care about all of the unimportant things. Some of the things on this list are everyday/all the time things, while others are just happening as I'm writing right this second. Here are the things I am no longer giving my time and energy to. Let me know if you relate.
