Is Georgia the 'Sickest State' in the Country This Flu Season?
If you are like most people in the US this flu season, you probably find yourself scrolling through your social media news feed regularly or watching your local news stations and coming across more than one seemingly reputable news article entitled “Georgia Named Sickest State in the Country.” Maybe you shared it. Perhaps you didn’t even read it, but the headline was enough to cause concern for the well-being of your family and friends—reasonably so. There is no doubt that this flu season has been a harsh one but with the media taking any anecdotal evidence and running with it, it’s difficult to tell what’s real and what’s “clickbait.”

An Open Letter To Anyone Grieving
If I had come across the title to this I would have done a hard eye-roll: please, like anyone can fathom my pain. My life changed violently and suddenly, but over a recent 18 month period, leaving me crawling on all fours and gasping for breath; that's putting it lightly, mildly, almost satirically gently.

Obesity seems to continue to be a major issue in society these days, and I'm seeing a lot more overweight children than when I was growing up. Children eat what is given to them, and if the parents are overindulging, then it only seems likely that the children will be overindulging as well.

My De-Stress Routine
You know, sometimes you just have a bad day. You are frustrated, upset, sad, and you need to let it all out. But what are you supposed to do? Are you just going to mope around? No. As tempting as moping around and complaining sounds, there are much better ways to let it go. I certainly have had bad days. Just recently, it was my birthday. I had my night class to go to and it, unfortunately, had been a not so good day. Not at all what I wanted it to be. Your birthday is supposed to be filled with fun and surprises. Although I had a lovely celebration with loved ones earlier that day before, my actual birthday day just wasn't so fun. I can't even remember what exactly I was upset about, only the fact that I just needed some time to myself—time to unplug from the world. Even though I missed a night of class and even though I do not condone skipping school, I do agree that everyone has bad days and sometimes you just need time to chill out and calm down. I am so glad I did and felt so much more relaxed afterwards.

All Natural Food Finds
If you are a survival show junkie like me then you know that your body can go weeks without food, but it can't even go days without water. Our body is mostly made of water, so it makes sense that we can't go without it. We lose two to three liters of water on a daily basis just through regular functioning, that doesn't count if you are sweating or being physically active. It is important to put back what you lose because water is used for a lot within our body, not just quenching our thirst. Water provides lubrication for our joints, to keep our brain and spine hydrated and functioning, as well as regulating temperature.

I've written several articles where the items I buy have come from TJMaxx, so I wanted to expand on that as I find that the various locations I have done to all have that one item of foods that are unique and really health oriented. They also sell things much cheaper than you may find at a health food grocery. That is the first place that I found gimMe Organic Teryaki Roasted Seaweed Snacks, which are so amazing.
