Using Crystals for Your Intentions
A few years back, I discovered healing crystals when I started to meditate. I used them as a tool to shift my energy while I was meditating. This exercise only lasted for a little while which I could have developed my experience with the crystals but for some reason, I did not continue with them.

Fitness 4 Dummies: Instagram Edition
First and foremost, I am going to start off by saying I am no fitness guru. In fact, I know the least amount about the gym lifestyle. However, that is why I am writing this article. To let every couch potato and fellow art student (who always admired the jocks in high school but had no idea what to do when it came to grinding it in the gym) know that there is some hope in losing weight, toning up or just overall becoming more healthy.

The Man Most Unlikely to Be an Athlete… at 58
Working in the senior care field, I am often pleasantly surprised by the energy and verve I see in my aging friends who are 30 and even 40 years older than me. I, too, hope that I will break down the myths of aging when I reach my 80s and beyond, and today, it is far more likely than I would have imagined 10 years ago.

Transformations Don't Happen Overnight
Fitness makes such a difference with anxiety, worries, stress, health issues, etc. We all know this is true. I don’t think there is one person in my daily life I could say, “You know fitness helps with stress right?” to them and get back:

5 Reasons Why Not to Go Vegan
For some people a trend, for others a lifestyle. It’s nearly impossible to avoid listening about veganism nowadays: from your Instagram feed to the new vegan restaurant down the street. Even though there’s been a 600% increase in people identifying as vegans in the U.S in the last three years, some people continue to be somehow skeptical about removing all animal products from their diets.

Tips on Becoming a Smart Ass for People Who Live with an Invisible Illness
The majority of people who live with a health condition do not appear as if they do. Having an invisible illness means that you walk around in the mall, window shopping. Sales associates ask if you need any help finding anything, you politely say “I’m okay, thanks.” You go to work and pretend to love your job and your coworkers, like everyone else in the work world. You get pissed off in traffic and beep your horn at someone who doesn’t use their turn signal. You go out for a drink with your girlfriends and laugh hysterically. You cook dinner for your family and tuck your kids into bed at night and kiss them on the forehead. You blend in with the rest of society even though you have this “secret” you are carrying with you every single day. It’s not apparent that you live with chronic pain, nobody can see your insulin pump under your shirt. They can’t see that you have a pace maker or, like me, can’t tell that I have left sided blindness (Homonymous Hemianopsia). You typically stay at home when you are in so much pain that you can’t physically move your body without crying, when you have a migraine which is a side effect of your traumatic brain injury, when a seizure has taken all your energy that morning, or when you can’t catch your breath because you’re having a bad heart day.

10 Things I Learnt From My Cancer Diagnosis
1. Not all things that happen for a reason are good things. Picture it. 15 years old and loving life, I was getting more and more socially confident and finally connecting with a bigger circle of friends; life was fantastic and I was excelling. I had exams coming up and revision was going well, except I kept getting these weird health problems which I was being seen at the doctors for. April 2010 comes along and I am diagnosed with a Low Grade Brain Tumour. My hair starts to fall out from stress, I fall into a pit of depression and become socially withdrawn. I then spent the majority of the rest of my mainstream education in and out of hospital. How could this be happening for a reason? Around comes results day and I scored top of my year group; despite barely being there. I had nothing else to do except study and having one to one tuition in the hospital improved my academic levels ten-fold! From here I’ve gone on to achieve high standards of A-Levels and commit to a degree, when my doctors at the point of diagnosis told my family I’d be lucky to have function of my brain, let alone survive past the age of 20 years old.

Yoga; Physically vs. Mentally, Abundantly, Fulfilling, Spiritually
Yoga; to me such a widely defined practice. Some use Yoga for stretching and exercise. Some apply it to their weekly workouts and some only do yoga every once in a while. When it comes to the word “yoga” there are few people that automatically think that it is a spiritual thing, but truth is; yoga is what you make it!!

Overcoming Insomnia
I know I lot of people suffer from Insomnia. I'm one of them. Started when I was younger, I think I was about eight or nine. I found myself not being able to sleep, and when I did it I would only sleep for about three to four hours. I never understood why until I got older. I tried keeping a fan on at night, having the TV on, putting on a movie, even tried reading a book I didn't enjoy. But I kept finding myself not getting a full night sleep.
