My Spiritual Awakening
I've been avoiding this topic for some time now because I wasn't sure if others could relate to my process. By all means, I am in no way a spiritual guru. I've not traveled, written a book, or been a participant in Oprah's Super Soul Sunday discussions. This past summer has been an exciting, exhausting, unsure, and happy one all at once. As you go through the therapy process as I have, you will come to a point where you feel like you've hit a wall. Meeting with my therapist once a week and completing the suggested homework assignments just made me physically and mentally exhausted. I wanted to give up; I tried to run, I wanted to continue to make bad habits and continuing my self-sabotage. Why? Because it was so much easier. After explaining to my therapist that I was ready to throw in the towel, it was one thing that she asked me that lit the flame to my awakening. The question was, "Even though you feel this way, what was your motivation to get up and come visit me today?"

If a person repeats this on a daily basis, it will lead to weight gain, which causes low self-esteem and unhappiness along the way. In order to avoid this downward spiral, a person should first take control of his or her lifestyle.

10 Healthy Habits That Don't Involve Exercising
Too often we complicate things—adding activities into our day-to-day lives that aren’t actually sustainable. Sure, the first day or two is fine because you’re super motivated but I don’t think any of us are strangers to that one week motivation slump. You’re trying to maintain relationships, be sociable, look after your family, clean your house, go grocery shopping (we all know that’s a whole day gone), the list goes on and on. Sometimes, we just don’t have time for exercising. I get it, exercising won’t always be your highest priority, so here’s some other healthy habits you can add into your life that won’t take up too much time and will get you on a healthier path. And remember, health isn’t just about fitness, it’s about your relationships—with yourself and the people around you, your mental wellbeing and your lifestyle. You can be a healthier person without ever stepping foot in a gym.

Self Care
Working as a care coordinator is extremely rewarding, but it is also stressful. Plus, I am the only care coordinator for three clinics and each clinic has approximately 100+ clients. That's about 300+ clients that I am trying to help, give referrals to and enough care. By the end of the day, I am exhausted and just want to sleep. So, how do I take care of myself?
