Journey Through Our Shadows: On the Edge of the Well of Memories
A ritual of letting go
You may be at a point in your journey where you sit on the edge of an endless well, simply gazing into the dark depths.
Do you dare to allow the darkness to pull you in? Look into it? Try to listen to what it has to tell you.
This dark depth represents your past.
Its continuous, pulling force can feel like a slap in the face at first. You might feel that you cannot move forward as long as you sense this black hole within you.
And that's okay; allow it.
It's futile to wait for someone else to heal this gaping wound, the grievances of your past. Only you can do that.
This painful darkness breathes self-destructive thoughts, desires, inhibitions, and fears. It is a whole array of things that secretly permeate you when you truly want to open up, live, love, and fulfill yourself.
Often, it is precisely at this point, sitting on the edge of the well, that the urge arises to reach for something external because this feeling is unbearable and too heavy…
And yes, now is the time for that substance too.
The purest substance: ritual.
In the growing external darkness and cold, call forth the parts of yourself that have been torn away along the lines of painful stories around the flame of a candle.
Ritualistically let go of each story, illuminating each one and looking it in the eye.
You are your past.
There is nothing else to realize except that this is not the here and now.
From this well, only your past haunts you.
So everything is just thought…
This difficulty, the pulling power of this depth is arranged around us now for a reason; it takes up such great space because finally, you need to see beyond it and not create from here anymore.
Meanwhile, possibility dances around you as well. You just cannot start moving toward it while the memories of this deep and dark well chain you down.
Sitting on the edge of your past determines the potential for this dance within you. If you hold on tightly to yourself, maintain your center, and allow the shadows of your past to flow through you without pulling them deep inside anymore, then suddenly, this depth will clear up. You will see that there is crystal-clear water at the bottom of the well.
In that reflection, perhaps for the first time in your life, you will truly see yourself here and now. Finally, you can lift your gaze so that instead of falling into the well of your past, you can fall in love with life…
With presence of mind and acceptance of our true selves, day by day, a new world opens up.
Moment by moment another life greets you.
Colors, tastes, scents, lights, sharp contours, brilliance, sacred places, energy fields, alliances. A dream within a dream.
Arriving somewhere you've never been, yet feeling like you've found your way home to a place you've never left. The innermost cave of your heart has been waiting for you comfortably for thousands of years. You can move in. You can inhabit it. You can fill it.
Do you sense the hidden meanings behind events? Is the finer truth hidden beneath the visible dense fabric or through the almost invisible veil revealing a denser reality?
Do you feel when the intangible touches you?
Grasping at your essence and rewiring the cells of your living body?
The invisible world fills all your senses. It looks deeply into your eyes. It hums secret teachings into your ear. It dances with magic within you.
If you allow it… If you don't grasp it or try to control it; if you're brave enough not to interpret it but rather receive it with an open chest and palms; it will reveal itself and blossom in your heart.

This is a profound and insightful reflection on the power of self-awareness and personal growth. Your words offer solace and guidance to those who may be struggling with the weight of the past. The metaphor of the well is particularly powerful, symbolizing the depths of our subconscious and the potential for healing and transformation. Your encouragement to embrace the darkness and to confront our inner demons is both brave and necessary. The invitation to connect with the invisible world and to trust in the power of the universe is inspiring. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your heartfelt message. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for renewal and transformation.
I'm impressed with th way this is written, in that it sounds more like an invitation to explore rather than a set of instructions. I enjoyed the serenity of the music, too.
This is so true! Thank you for writing the article about this much needed conversation.
