Is Your Sickness Psychological?

I love shows that explore and express the wonders of the mind. And mine happens to be creatively complex in the way it connects entertainment to the real world. If you are a thinker like me you’ll enjoy the ride you’re about to take reading this. If you’ve watched American Gods on Starz, then you’ll understand this reading completely.

Were you feeling ill before or after a diagnosis?

“I wouldn’t need a diagnosis if I wasn’t feeling ill to begin with.”

Well fine, did you start feeling WORSE before or after the diagnosis? Or are you a hypochondriac like me? Do you self diagnose after looking up a few of your symptoms on Google? Now all of sudden it makes sense that you have mitochondrial colon disease and you should expect to live for three weeks before you die and come back to die again. I know, a bit dramatic, but that’s the point.

In the midst of the novel COVID-19, everyone has conveniently forgot about regular old head colds, stomach bugs and influenza. No one knows how to react to the sniffles or a simple throat clear anymore. This pandemic has heightened our anxiety and paranoia possibly to the point of no return. When’s the last time anyone has called out without fear that they won’t be required to do an unpaid leave until they’re results come back negative? I mean for those of us who are lucky enough to still have work at least.

Most of us, however, have had nothing better to do than to catch up on shows and movies on streaming platforms, like Netflix and Hulu. And if you’re anything like me, you can be heavily influenced by the thoughts and ideas presented to you in films. One of my favorites right now is a Starz original.

I know some of you must be saying to yourself, “Well what the hell does that have to do with psychological illness!?” Relax, Skippy. It all connects just keep reading!

Anyway, so maybe I’ve been reading into the tv show, American Gods, a little more than I should have. But, in my defense, it is very thought provoking. And it has open my mind to the idea of “New Gods” and their mission, as well as how skillfully deceptive media and entertainment can be. It is the very inspiration for this entire article. Now, we can get back on track.

This “plandemic,” as some may refer to it, has taken us out of our element in the worst way possible. Not only are we forced to constantly breath in our own toxins, we are also forced to be isolated from loved ones, stuck in our homes and paranoid about germs that have always been here, which actually help our immune systems.

The purpose of media - the “New Gods” - is to drive and control the audiences’ worldly perceptions, as so heavily emphasized in the hit Starz original. If this is in fact the case in the real world, then we are all falling victim to its plan.

Every movie or tv show you’ve ever had the pleasure of watching is going to be a reality one day - another point also depicted in the show. They say today, it’s entertainment but tomorrow (hopefully in the much more distant future) it will be real world issues. They’ve always placed the truth right under our noses and we snort the drug of fantasy, enjoying the high from blissful ignorance. With that being said, many people believe that the coronavirus is nothing more than a distraction, but from what exactly is the real mystery.

Covid-19 is absolutely real, do not misunderstand this article. It has always been real, but it is not the only nor the last coronavirus we will endure. The common cold is a coronavirus, influenza is a coronavirus and this may not be a fact but I believe pneumonia is as well. To my understanding, any infection that directly affects your upper respiratory system is considered a coronavirus. However the panic over published cases of COVID-19 are completely unnecessary. There are still more people who’ve died from the flu than COVID and now there seems to be people dying even faster from a covid vaccine than the virus itself.

It is unfortunate for those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 and I offer my sincerest condolences to the families of these loved ones. And all at the same time, I’m well aware that the numbers publicized are rigged. They’ve slapped COVID-19 on autopsies as cause of death with a not so hidden agenda. At the start of the pandemic, nurses and doctors - MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS - have come forth and exposed this much; that so many people have not really died from covid yet they were forced to write it on death certificates. It makes you wonder why, doesn’t it? What is the purpose of forged autopsies other than to hide the truth? What is the truth? That last question is the theme of American Gods, although not specifically surrounding the topic of COVID.

I was fortunate enough not to have contracted the virus myself or lose any of my family, friends or other close associates when they were all diagnosed with COVID-19. Scared for them and myself not having a say for being around everybody between home and work, I fell victim to some anxiety and fear. I was convinced that I may have been an asymptomatic carrier because I had been in close contact with all my family who tested positive as well as coworkers and clients. Believing the things I read on the internet yet again. Which brings me to the title of this article. Is your sickness psychological?

Many of the people I lived and worked with developed mild symptoms like congestion, a headache and maybe even a cough here and there before they tested for Covid. Shortly after testing positive, a few of them developed worsening symptoms.

My dad suffered the worst of all my family members. He was telling us and himself that his days were numbered. Complaining of terrible headaches and exhibiting extreme fatigue. He would not eat for the first week and a half and my mother and I would force him to drink fluids. All this only after his positive test result. Although he was hospitalized, it was only for a few hours and he had only received an IV. The first indication that he may have been suffering more psychologically than physically. Some of my coworkers were also exhibiting symptoms. Prior to receiving their results, they were so convinced that it was just an aggressive case of allergies or headcold and otherwise felt fine to work. No sluggishness or interruption of their daily routine whatsoever. They were in denial, of course, but that state of delusion clearly helped them push through the day like it was any other.

Yes of course, like every infection or disease, different people are affected differently and this virus in particular is not apart of the exception. I have to keep an open mind understanding that fact. But I cannot and I will not turn a blind eye to the people who run the world pushing numbers and showcasing only the worse case scenarios for the benefit of leveraging fear.

The very concept that Mr.World fixates and thrives on in the show is fear and anxiety being the formula for ultimate power over people. He and his ‘disciples’ understand the principle of mind over matter which in turn allows them to understand and wield the power of mind control. Much like our government, in general really but for now specifically in the case of this pandemic. They have told us what to do, how to do it but not how long we have to do it for. Even if or when they say we can get rid of these horrific face coverings, how likely do you all think it will be to be comfortable going out or gathering like we used to?

A lot of us have found ourselves glued to the news or reports on social media platforms constantly absorbing information that may or may not be accurate and legitimate. We have all made an influenced decision of some sort to believe what a stranger on a screen is telling us, rather than doing our own due diligence or simply remain walking in faith of the religion or spiritual standards we may stand by. We have been brainwashed, mostly unknowingly and now it makes me wonder: Who is and who is playing God?
