I Tried 6 Simple Steps To Happiness With My Family
Here's What Happened

As a busy body, it can be hard to find time to spend with your loved ones. Between work, social life, and other obligations, it can feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day. But what if there was a simple way to bring more happiness into your life?
That's what I set out to discover when I tried six simple steps to happiness with my family. Here's what happened.
Step 1: Spend Time Together
The first step was to spend more time together as a family. We all lead busy lives, but I realized that we weren't spending enough quality time together. So, we made a commitment to spend at least one hour together every day.
We did all sorts of things together, from going for walks in the park to having dinner together. And you know what? It really worked! Spending more time together helped us feel closer as a family and brought more happiness into our lives.
Step 2: Practice Gratitude
The second step was to practice gratitude. It's easy to get caught up in the stresses of everyday life and forget about all the good things we have. So, we started a gratitude journal where we wrote down three things we were grateful for every day.
At first, it felt a little silly. But over time, we started to notice a real difference in our attitudes. We were more positive and optimistic, and we felt more grateful for the good things in our lives.
Step 3: Do Something Kind
The third step was to do something kind for someone else. It's easy to get caught up in our own problems and forget about others. But doing something kind for someone else can be incredibly rewarding.
So, we started doing small acts of kindness every day. It could be something as simple as holding the door open for someone or complimenting a stranger on their outfit. And you know what? It really made us feel good! Doing something kind for someone else helped us feel more connected to our community and brought more happiness into our lives.
Step 4: Get Outside
The fourth step was to get outside more often. We all spend so much time indoors these days, but I realized that we were missing out on the beauty of nature. So, we made a commitment to spend at least half the day outside every day.
We did all sorts of things outside, from going for long walks to gardening/farming on our properties. And you know what? It really worked! Spending more time outside helped us feel more connected to nature and brought more happiness into our lives, especially the commitment we made to having a small farm/large gardens throughout our various pieces of land we own.
Step 5: Learn Something New
The fifth step was to learn something new together as a family. We all get stuck in our routines sometimes, but learning something new can be incredibly rewarding.
So, we decided to take up a new hobby together. We chose being philanthropists because it was something that neither one of us had ever done before. And you know what? It was so much fun! We spent hours planning together on how we could help support the different communities in which we live during the different times of the year. It was a great way to bond as a family and bring more happiness into our lives.
Step 6: Laugh More
The sixth step was to laugh more often. It's easy to get caught up in the stresses of everyday life and forget about the importance of laughter.
So, we made a commitment to laugh more every day. We watched funny movies together, told jokes, and played silly games. And you know what? It really worked! Laughter helped us feel more connected as a family and brought more happiness into our lives.
Trying these six simple steps to happiness with my family was incredibly effective. Spending more time together, practicing gratitude, doing something kind for someone else, getting outside, learning something new, and laughing more helped us feel happier and more fulfilled.
If you're looking for ways to bring more happiness into your life, I highly recommend giving these steps a try. They're simple, easy to do, and most importantly, really work.
