Reading this piece and all females should know this.

She Thought It Was Just Fatigue: The Hidden Signs of a Stroke in Women

Learn about the early warning signs of stroke in women, including subtle symptoms and risk factors. Learn how to…

Signs of a Mini Stroke in Females (TIA)

That’s called a mini stroke or TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). My aunt had one a year before her big stroke — but we didn’t know. Health And Fitness

Like I didn’t know, I had COVID, so brain fog is one of its side effects. I keep forgetting stuff, simple stuff.

I decided to go to the doctor. She ordered a brain scan for me.

Procedure

CT Brain (Non-contrast 2.5 mm axial images obtained on a 32-slice MDCT with 2.5 mm recons obtained on bone window)

Clinical history : 3/12 left-sided weakness and pain. Nil known h/o CVA. Nil chronic illnesses

Findings : No acute intracranial hemorrhage, mass effect, or midline shift was seen. There is a very subtle hypodensity in the inferior aspect of the right lentiform nucleus. The remaining brain parenchyma is unremarkable.

Impression : Very subtle hypodensity appreciated in the inferior aspect of the right lentiform nucleus ?? a subtle focus of infarction. Otherwise unremarkable study. Recommend MRI for further evaluation.

Google says: Subtle Focus:

The word “subtle” indicates that the change in density is not very pronounced and might be difficult to detect without careful examination.

Infarction: Infarction is the process of tissue death due to a lack of blood supply. In the brain, this is often caused by a blockage of a blood vessel, such as a stroke.

This is scary and got me worried. I don’t have high blood pressure, diabetes, or any other chronic illness. I eat healthy, exercise, and do yoga. I practice positive mental health and try to keep negative hell out. It’s hard, though, with the hell raging in our world.

How could I have a mini stroke and not know? I consider myself aware and focused.

Most people think strokes are loud and dramatic — someone collapsing suddenly. But in females, strokes often start quietly. The signs of a stroke in females can look like tiredness, confusion, or even anxiety. Health And Fitness

This is frightening. I experienced all three and didn’t know.

What Are the 3 Warning Signs of a Stroke in Females?

Let’s keep this super simple. Remember F-A-S-T:

F: Face drooping

A: Arm weakness

S: Speech problems

T: Time to call emergency help, Health And Fitness

I had two of the above.

Women live longer than men, which means more years for risks to build up. Health And Fitness

Damn, this is hell for us. I am grateful I found out early. My MRI is scheduled for August 13 at 9:30 AM.

Females, please, check yourself often. Listen to your body. Get regular checkups. My brain is my CPU. I don’t wish to stay alive if I can think for myself.
