Free Weekly Reading #54

Reading for 12-14 thru 12-20-20

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric, (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card this week is the 3 of Swords.

Often seen as a card of sorrow, this three brings to light the insight we have gained through life’s contradictions and struggles. What once caused us so much sorrow that we chose to look away now comes back into the light to be recognized but with the added wisdom that we’ve gained through life’s occasionally storm tossed seas. We’ve begun to understand how the (thought) waves connect and interact with the knowledge we’ve accumulated to find the effective ways to steer the course so our (mind/heart) ship, although bounced around, no longer suffers damage. We can now meet the uniquely Swords based challenges of intellect and communication with a true understanding of what has worked through our own trial and error, and what hasn’t. The key concept for the week is simple honesty. As we take on whatever arguments, hard feelings, or emotional stand-offs that pull at our heartstrings, an honesty born of the desire to clear the air and right the course is the most effective tool we have. It seems we’ve come to the point where old wounds no longer make sense. We’ve grown and decided to bring our deep consciousness to bear in allowing them to heal.

The West card is the Tower.

Boom! Not that we haven’t had enough Tower energy this year but this one feels really appropriate right now. Things going physically, monetarily, emotionally and/or creatively haywire gives us a perfect opportunity to use the expanded wisdom and awareness we’ve become aware of with the 3 of Swords energy. Be mindful that this week could have us all dancing around tiny land mines of discontent where resentments that have been too long held at bay pop up and bite us. Our own as well as whatever preconceived notions held by those in our circle of friends, partners, colleagues and acquaintances. Though we may have wanted to hold uneasy feelings close to the vest, that may not be an option for the next few days.

The East card is Art.

This is a card of unity and reconciliation, not just with outer intercourse and discourse but, even more importantly, in alignment with our inner guidance and true Self. Art shows us the creative brilliance and solutions we can come to when we follow our honest and well honed insights. As alchemists seek the Philosopher’s Stone by delving deep into the darkness of inner Earth, when we dig into the darkness of who we are, and if we do it right, we find the priceless gem of the True Self. As we bring our awareness to the discord, inequity and imbalance we find in relations we have with others the wisdom of our compiled experience can act as the alchemy we use to burn away the impurities of an element to find its purest form. Alchemists used alembics, cucurbits and lutes to heat elements in order to separate them into their purest forms. We use our experience, honesty and action to discover the priceless gem of our own creative source.

In conclusion;

We have a great chance this week to infuse our interactions, especially those that have been vitriolic or combustible, with the healing salve of wisdom born of experience and with these tools we easily rise above pettiness, jealousy and resentment. We’ve compiled over years of push and pull, a recognition of how we’re living in contrast to how we’d like to live. Now is a good time to honor our desires and open a dialogue with those who’ve been a part of that growth. The Tower is likely to give us a perfect opening. Its energy just loves to blow things up. Don your armored helmets of honesty and wisdom and forge ahead.

Have an alchemical week.

Tip for the week: Let those find fault who’s wit’s so very slow, They’ve need to show that they can think at all; Errors, like straws, upon the surface flow; He who would search for pearls, Must dive below.
