Children's summer diet taboos
4 types of food to be aware of

With the improvement of people's living standards, there are more and more types of food on the market. Many families regard their children as treasures in their palms, and all kinds of spoiling the children have caused the children to develop the bad habits of picky eaters and random snacking, which affects their health. It should be noted that there are some foods in life that are not suitable for children to eat because they may cause food poisoning.

What foods are not suitable for children?
1. Snacks with too high preservatives
In the hot summer, digestive enzymes are reduced, and children will suffer from loss of appetite. At this time, parents will buy a variety of snacks, thinking that their children can eat snacks to fill their stomachs if they are not full. The snacks are made into snacks with a long shelf life after a series of processing, which will add some preservatives. Preservatives are chemicals. Eating too much can cause the loss of some minerals and trace elements in the child's body. Regular consumption can affect growth and development. For example, instant noodles, ice cream, biscuits and ham sausage, etc., all contain a certain amount of preservatives and should be given to children as little as possible.

2. Pickled foods such as pickles and bacon
Children must have a light diet. Eating too much salt will increase the burden on the kidneys and liver. Pickled foods are high-salt foods, and a variety of sweet, sour, spicy and other flavors are added to stimulate people's appetite. But pickled foods often contain nitrites, eating too much may affect memory and even lead to chronic poisoning.
3. Strong tea
The history of tea drinking in our country has a long history. This is the traditional Chinese culture. In summer, many parents like to make a pot of tea and taste it slowly. However, children should not drink too much, because strong tea tastes bitter and dark in color. When entering the body, it will dilute the gastric juice and affect the digestion of the gastrointestinal tract. It will cause the child to have gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal pain and indigestion.

4. Foods that contain too much aluminum
Not all trace elements are good for the body, such as aluminum, which is toxic to the body. Eating foods that are too high in aluminum will affect the body's absorption of calcium and iron and other trace elements, affect the development of children's bones, and cause mild or severe damage to the nervous system and various organs. A certain amount of aluminum is often contained in hawthorn cake, inferior jelly, songhua egg and fried dough sticks.
5. Don't just eat fruit meals
Midsummer is the peak season for fruit consumption. Some mothers think that fruit is rich in nutrients and can be used as a baby’s meal. This idea is actually wrong.
From the perspective of nutrition, the human body’s many basic nutritional needs such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, etc., cannot be met by eating fruits alone. For a long time, they can only survive by "fruitization", which will affect the endocrine system and digestive system of the human body. , Immune system, etc. will have adverse effects. Most fruits are rich in sugar, long-term ingestion of large amounts, will also raise "little fat dumplings."
6. Don't be gluttonous with juices and drinks
The juice tastes good. If you drink too much juice, it will inevitably affect the child's intake of the main meal, causing the nutritional status of the body to lose balance and cause malnutrition.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends:
Do not give juice to infants under 6 months;
After 6 months, you can drink a small amount of fruit juice in a limited amount, but for babies over 6 months old, the nutrition of fruit juice is far less than that of real fruit.
Don't give your baby fruit juice before going to bed, and don't use fruit juice as a supplement for dehydration and diarrhea.
For children from 1 to 6 years old, the daily juice consumption should be limited to 120-180 ml depending on the age.
The above is for fresh fruit juice. For commercial beverages, strict control should be applied.

7. Don't eat too much cold drinks
Cold drinks are a favorite food for children. Be sure to limit your intake. Excessive intake of cold drinks can cause gastrointestinal diseases in children, and can also harm teeth. Cold drinks are generally 20 to 30 degrees lower than the temperature in the stomach. After the gastric mucosa is stimulated by overcooling, the mucosal blood vessels contract strongly, and the gastric endocrine disorder is disturbed. The secretion of gastric acid and gastric enzymes is sharply reduced, which greatly reduces the digestion, sterilization, and immunity of the stomach.
Children's gastric mucosa is very delicate, and it is easy to cause "cold-eating gastritis", such as abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, and indigestion. If the cold drink is unqualified, it can also cause bacterial gastrointestinal disease. Too much cold food can also affect the development of children's teeth, especially during the tooth replacement period.
8. Don't eat leftovers
Even if it is stored in the refrigerator, it must be heated before serving to the baby. The refrigerator is not a sterilization box, and the bacteria in the refrigerator compartment can also contaminate food.
Tips
In the hot summer, many children like to eat cold drinks, but eating too cold food will stimulate the stomach, reduce stomach digestion, sterilization and immune function, and easily cause physical discomfort. The high temperature in summer will cause bacteria to grow and multiply. Even if the unfinished meal is stored in the refrigerator, it will breed too many bacteria, so try not to let your children eat leftovers. In addition, you sweat a lot in summer, so you can properly let your child drink warm water or light salt water, or eat water-rich watermelon, pear, or apple. In addition, pay attention to your child's food hygiene, and wash your hands carefully before and after meals. Children's tableware should be specially designed and disinfected regularly at high temperature, and the amount of cold drinks should be controlled, especially iced drinks or ice cream should not be consumed.
